We were very excited to visit last night as we were celebrating 2 birthdays. What a huge disappointment! We were sat in an empty room but they squished 8 of us together at a table for 6. Didn't have enough service wear or menus until we asked a couple times. No atmosphere at all and it appeared that a manager served us, she was wearing a headset and seemed preoccupied. As far as the food, its food court quality AT BEST. The fried rice was a clump of tan starch, no veggies or eggs thrown in. The 3 or 4 veggies were tempura style, we think one was a slice of sweet potato, not sure. If you dont like zucchini or onions, this will stay in your box. Oh yeah, that's the other part. Each persons entree came out in a laquered stacked box with compartments. My 15 year old said it best..." like a Japanese lunchable". Once everyone took theres apart and spread out to eat, there was no room at the table making it difficult to even put down our water glasses. I know this is long but theres alot to say to warn you guys. Sushi was overpriced- $14 for small " Hilton Head" 8 pc roll and oh yeah, do not get the soba noodles. They were a huge bowl of tasteless broth, a few pieces of pork and halfcut boiled eggs- very bland. No one wanted it after trying it. We really wished we had chosen a different place for our celebration, this was a huge $200 disappointment. Poor service, horrible quality food and nothing like the quality of Japanese dining we expected from the...
Read moreMy friends and I went here for dinner on a Thursday night and it was so-so. The sushi was amazing (also extremely well-priced... we got the Wizard Roll and it was only $11), the soup and salad was awesome as well. What was lacking were two things - the service and the main food. Our waitress was kind of rude and told us that it was not even possible to split a check so we had some trouble with that. She stood there and waited for my friend to put her card in the check folder instead of giving us time to do so. She made some weird remarks and was overall an extremely awkward and underwhelming waitress. There were some nice staff members, though, so we might have just gotten the bad apple in the bunch! Lol. Also, the food... we all got chicken teriyaki and were extremely dissatisfied with the taste of the food. One word to describe it would be BLAND. I don't think that they used any soy sauce or teriyaki sauce while cooking and their friend rice just look like steamed brown rice... The tempura vegetables were also very bland & the food was ultimately not good. I would recommend only coming here if you want to get sushi. The sushi chefs were extremely funny and entertaining + the sushi was delicious! I do not recommend ordering anything but sushi...
Read moreNever again. The place was beautiful to look at on the inside and out. But the service was awful!!! We like sushi deep fried. We called in advance to make sure that this could be done and they said yes. We specified this to the server. He acted as if we dumb and went on to tell us that sushi is fried "nothing will be crawling around in your stomach" again we let him know that we knew the food was cooked in sushi that we wanted the entire thing fried and he ignored us. Brought out our appetizer and did not return again until the rolls were done. I wanted white sauce with the appetizer and i asked another server because ours was gone. She did not understand me and brought me back an empty bowl?? Then the server returns with our sushi rolls which of course are not fried. At that point we spent too much time there and really wanted to leave. The server INSISTED that it would be a 2 minute fix. He lied and said the rolls could be thrown into the frier as is. We knew better. The whole thing had to be remaid. 20 minutes later the new rolls come out and they werent even the ones we ordered. We paid for our app and left. Wouldnt waste your time or money on this place. Coligny has WAYY better...
