This restaurant was really weird . I brought my wife and went to this restaurant because it was the closest to the hotel , the time we went there , they were not so welcoming and the waiter who takes the order was having a bad attitude on her . At the first places , waiter asked us for drinks , we told her Chinese tea which is called specifically as the black tea in China or whatever they called it , the China waiter brought us green tea , which was really weird and we told her this is not what we want to drink , we want Chinese tea which is a black tea leaf . They knew what we were asking for and acted stupidly . So next we ordered the food which was a mixed vegetable soup and sweet and sour chicken and my wife ordered honey chicken with fried rice , they brought me a fried chicken which doesn’t even makes sense to the sweet sour chicken I ordered, my wife got these deep fried chicken which wasn’t even an inch honey on it and they called that honey chicken , I called the waiter and told , you totally got the order wrong . We ordered something and you’re giving me something that I didn’t ask , it was a really bad customer service . We just left without paying a single cents to them because they were really rude with their attitude and a very bad customer service. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone because of their behaviour. At the first place waiter took order without a paper and pen like she got it all correct but at last brought us something totally doesn’t make sense . What kind of service is this to satisfy a customer who pays tax and doesn’t sit there for free . We pay the bill and even tip, we never sitting there for free , so don’t treat people like they are sitting there for free , once again I would never recommend this restaurant. Really bad...
Read moreWhat on earth? These negative reviews are insane or made up. Don't listen to garbage here. My wife and I just moved here and tried this place blindly after shopping over at the Pet store.
My wife got the scallops in garlic sauce and I got the duck with some rice and soup sides.
That was the best duck I've ever put in my mouth, and the scallops my wife got nearly brought tears to the eyes in savory taste and cooked to perfection. We eat the same things across the entire southeast, and never tasted it better than this.
The portions are huge. I'm a big hungry fellow and barely finished mine. On top of this, they told me they would deliver up to 10pm all the way to where I live in the Redlands/Princeton with a minimum $30 order. Only $10 min if you live closer. I can't get pizza where I live because no one delivers there for us.
Prices are insanely low compared to anywhere else. My wife's scallop dinner was $11 and jam PACKED with scallops--must've been 30 or more. My duck was completely boneless.
Atmosphere is medium ambient lighting and feels very clean. Servers are very attentive and amazing wall ornaments all around.
Also, there is a surprise dinner for two on their menu for $35. Sounds romantic. I have no idea what it is, but not knowing what might come out sounded exciting. We are going to try that next time for a special evening.
I also noticed they had a worker who could translate fluent spanish for customers having difficulty speaking english.
I'm impressed, and that is saying something after years of being a restaurant critic and a cook--I'm not easily pleased by most prepared foods. That said, 5 stars from this customer.
Well done Peking...
Read moreY’all. I don’t know why this place doesn’t have higher ratings. If you’re in the mood for classic Chinese takeout served in the iconic boxes, this is it! It only starts there.. The food is fresh and delicious. And the service is fast and friendly. We were told our order would be ready in 15 minutes, just enough time to drive over to get it. We arrived early and were told “about ten more minutes,” which we were fine with, but within 60 seconds our food was being brought out, nicely packed for transport.
BE AWARE They only handle take out orders currently, No dine-in available. But, for us, that’s what we were looking for.
We had the egg drop soup, egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, beef with broccoli, kung pao chicken, and chicken fried rice. Everything was excellent! The soup had great flavor and lots of egg; if you like yours with crispy wontons, you’ll want to request those. The egg rolls were generously stuffed and filling. Our entrees were pretty classic and made just as you would expect. Some versions of kung pao vary - theirs included chicken, celery, carrots, snap peas, baby corn, bell pepper, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and peanuts - so good! All of this fed a hungry family of 4 adults and 2 kids, and we still had leftovers. Food was very fairly priced.
Thank you, Peking House of Homestead, for feeding our family! We...
