6th & River — Attraction in Honesdale

We had our wedding reception at 6th & River over Memorial Day weekend and it was truly everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we stepped into the space, we knew it was something special, full of character, history, and charm. The venue is stunningly unique, with exposed brick, high ceilings, and warm natural light that made it feel both elegant and intimate. It provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration that felt like us.

What really made the experience unforgettable was Amanda, the venue coordinator. She was an absolute force of calm and competence throughout the entire process. Amanda handled so many details, many of which we didn’t even know needed handling, that we truly lost track of how much she did behind the scenes. She also collaborated seamlessly with our wedding planner, which helped everything come together in such a smooth, unified way. Her responsiveness, attention to detail, and bubbly personality made all the difference in helping us feel confident and cared for every step of the way.

As a same-sex couple, we also want to highlight how welcomed and celebrated we felt at 6th & River. That sense of inclusion meant so much to us. From start to finish, it was clear that our love was not just accepted, but truly honored. There was no hesitation, no awkwardness, just warmth, respect, and genuine joy.

6th & River made our wedding so magical and perfect in every way. They were truly a dream to work with. Laura & Katharine took their time to closely work with us throughout our whole planning process. They truly made our vision come to life… and they made it even better than we dreamed. It was so nice to work with them because of their kindness, advice, expertise, and flexibility. They truly wanted us to have a perfect day & you can clearly see that they have a passion for what they do. All of our questions were answered in-depth throughout the process & we felt comfortable the whole way through. Katharine designed the PERFECT bouquets for my bridesmaids & I, and she gave me exactly what I wanted and asked her for. The flowers were absolutely perfect. Laura took it upon herself and used the Polaroid camera I had brought to our wedding & she took photos of moments throughout the evening. That meant so much to me because they are some of my favorite images & it truly shows the care that she puts into the little details. Laura and Katharine care deeply about their couples & it shows. I can't say enough good things about 6th & River. We held our wedding reception there after a ceremony at Fox Hill Farm (also amazing). The day went incredibly smooth thanks in large part to Laura and Katherine who work together and make the best team. They brought our entire vision to life with the help of other local businesses. The venue is spacious and beautiful. The entrance of the big beautiful brick building leads you upstairs (or elevator) to the space. There are windows along an entire two walls giving you the best view and lighting. They accommodate any set up you can imagine, making each event unique and special. There is an onsite bridal loft with fun eclectic decor and beautifully lit for getting ready. We loved the huge sliding doors from the small space into the main space for our grand entrance. We were very detailed and specific with our vision and plans for the day and Laura truly out did herself making sure every detail and moment was perfect. All in all this venue is gorgeous, the staff is amazing but most importantly I loved the freedom and creativity we were able to have to make our wedding feel unlike anyone else's. I would recommend...
