I’ve been coming to Honesdale for 20 years, but I had no idea this park existed at the top of a mountain. Very nice scenic vista of downtown Honesdale’s valley, part of the Lackawaxen river, and the Moosic mountains to the west, started with wind turbines which make for a striking view on a clear day.
I did not spend much time exploring, but there seem to be at least two trails branching off from the lower area adjacent to the parking lot. Several picnic tables are there, but other than those, they do not seem to be any benches, garbage cans or any other standard park amenities. Very rustic , but a little confusing as to what constitutes the purported 50 acres of parkland as there is almost no signage.
Looks like a great place to go for a romantic picnic or watching the sunset with someone special, but you must pack out what you take in, and I can’t speak to the condition of the trails or the rest...
