Aloha Hawaii Tours and Travel aka Aloha Hawaii Tours and aka Fun in the Sun Tours LLC "membership" is a scam. This is probably why they go by many different names. They promise you free travel and free tours if you listen to a 90 minute group webinar on why you should join their membership. Once you are done listening, you won't get the travel voucher unless you now listen one on one to a high pressure sales person who convinces you that you will save a ton of money using their platform to travel. However, it cost almost $4000 to join and then another $200 a year for the rest of your life for the membership. What they don't tell you, and the hotel prices they show you, do NOT include tax, hotel fees, or other fees. And what they also fail to tell you is that places like Costco travel and many other travel sites (that are completely FREE) can actually be cheaper than what they are offering you. You can not do any research while you are talking to them. I tried and they told me to go sit down and do nothing else but listen to them. So all your research has to be done after you hang up. However, if you hang up, then you can no longer get the deal they are offering you. After I joined, I did my research and found out that Costco travel was actually cheaper. I emailed them and said I wanted a refund and showed them what I had found from Costco. This is what they said, "We never promise to beat private or travel agent rates. Other entities or clubs (or agent firms) can possibly work out a better......." AND "Please be advised that all sales are final on this membership purchase..." So the bottom line is that I am PAYING for travel service that is HIGHER than some FREE travel services. I not only lost $4000 but I am in it for $200 a year for LIFE! *Please note, while some reviews may appear positive, keep in mind that they are being based on the experiences tourist get from an independent 3rd party tour operator, not Aloha Hawaii Tours and Travel membership itself, nor do the reflect the quality or pricing of the hotels booked by Aloha Hawaii Tours and Travel. When doing your research, separate the tour operators from Aloha Hawaii Tours and Travel membership. Although Aloha Travel may use these 3rd party companies, they are completely different entities. And if you use these 3rd party tour companies yourself instead of going through Aloha Tours, you can save yourself money by not paying a middle man. Bottom line, you don't need to pay a high fee and a lifetime membership to get cheap travel. There are travel services out there that offer cheaper travel prices with no commitment, and are...
Read moreWe were picked up by Josh who was very friendly and informative. He informed us that we were going to transfer to another tour guide, Chris, who would connect is with a larger group. Upon transfer, we were on to experience the Hana coastline experience.
We made our first stop at a beach that surfers and turtles frequent. We were offered coffee and donuts there. A fruitstand was a short distance away. Chris let us know what the plans were for the day.
Our next stop was a little stand with fresh cooked banana bread. Chris played a trivia game with us to pass the time and bought a loaf of banana bread to share with us as a reward. It was very tasty bread, so we bought some to take back with us.
Following that we went to a location with clean bathrooms. This is where we changed into our swim suits to swim near and behind the waterfall. Gorgeous location! The water was very refreshing! Remember to walk on the little rocks and wear water shoes. This is an amazing experience!
At every stop there were stands with fruit and local made products. Winding around the narrow roads and seeing the waterfalls at every few turns was a highlight for us. We then went on to experience the Black Sand Beach. This location has many things to see. It was very beautiful! It is not a great swmiming location, but the scenery is well worth the short hike!
Following this we had a nice lunch at a bbq stand. The food was good, and they offered vegan/vegetarian/fish options.
This tour was unique in that they continue down the road and go around the rest of the south east side of the island. It was a completely different landscape. There was a lot of farmland with cows after the rainforest dissapated. From this side you could see Hawaii, the Big Island. We stopped at a honey farm and watched as the sun began to set.
Chris was very helpful and a complete gentleman every step of the way. He answered all of our millions of questions and explained things throughout the trip. There were a few more stops along the way, but I'll let you explore them yourselves.
We made it safely back to the resort and thoroughly enjoyed our trip! We were glad we were not driving and loved the extra information we recieved from Chris. Thanks for the...
Read moreWe had an unfortunate encounter with one of the tour guides from your company on 7/19/2021 while we were at Waimea Valley. We did not get his name, but he is a male, short stature medium to heavy build wearing a light teal Aloha shirt with similar color shell-like earrings. He acted as if he was staff at Waimea Valley and instructed me and my family to stand back in line to pay to enter since we were not part of his tour group. However, we already had reservations which were paid for in advance. I tried to explain to him that we were instructed by staff to enter through the gate to show our wristband. He continued to state to stand back in line and pay. That only his tour group can go through the gate. We stood back in line. When he came closer, I kindly asked him if he worked for Waimea Valley. He stated no, that he was a tour guide. I further told him that we were instructed by Waimea Valley Staff to enter the gate and that he should not have interfered. We did not have to stand in line. Your tour guide became verbally aggressive and threatening. Stating that “don’t try to have beef with me”… “you messed with the wrong local bruddah”. I said that was unnecessary since all he needed to do was listen and not interfere since he wasn’t staff at the location. He continued to speak aggressively and insisted that we “messed with the wrong local bruddah”. What was the purpose of stating that? To further threaten us that he will cause us troubles for us while we are here on the island? I told him that he had bad mana. It was such a shame that he represented your company with such a poor attitude. He does not represent the majority of the people of Hawaii. He doesn’t represent the overall kindness that the locals have extended to all guests. Waimea Valley staff were witness to this and were able to provide me with the name of the company he worked for. I was also able to see him in your tour van. I’ve attached pictures. I hope this will not recur because his actions reflected poorly on your tour company and most of all the Aloha spirit. Update: the company has replied back and performing their own...
