Astral Spa — Attraction in Hot Springs

The facilities are beautiful, but the service & maintenance was so-so. Once we were escorted to the locker room to change after arrival, it became clear that we were forgotten about when someone typically comes back to give you a tour of the amenities for use prior to your massage service. I went to the front desk to tell them and the woman who then toured us around seemed very put out by us and borderline rude.

I also find it inconvenient that everything in the amenity area has time limit recommendations but there is only 1 clock in the whole area that you can’t hardly see from anything. I prefer an experience where someone guides you through the amenity area process so you don’t have to think about watching the clock the whole time. Much more truly relaxing in my opinion.

The floor in the amenity area was also very wet, which I understand to a certain degree because it’s mostly water-based activities, but it could be more frequently dried. We saw another group of ladies with wine which was never offered to us, so hunted down an employee to ask for champagne.

My masseuse, Catherine, was fabulous and so kind. I was told the music in the massage rooms was broken, so there was no music which really cut down on the relaxation of the massage when you hear every little noise.. Not at all the masseuses fault, but seems like a simple fix would be to just play music off your phone or a small portable speaker. No discount offered for the music being broken.

Gratuity is built-in (20%) to your ticket as a “service fee”. I always tip generously but this struck me as odd.

All in all, I think this spa has premier pricing for the market so the entire experience should reflect that in a flawlessy executed experience, which I would say mine did not meet...

Husband and I had a wonderful visit to Astral Spa during our Anniversary trip. The facilities were impeccably designed, luxurious, and spotless. Delores was our very sweet, expertly skilled massage therapist who helped us to relax and enjoy every minute of our experience. This spa is the crown jewel of your stay in Hot Springs, AR. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

UPDATE I wanted to come back to leave another 5 star review for the Astral Spa but I am not able to do so on google reviews so I thought I will leave an updated edit to my original. Since our initial visit we have been back FOUR times already. Each time we visit the Astral Spa it is a treat. The staff is always the utmost professional, accommodating, and courteous. Everyone from the concierge and each of the technicians we have had. Truly these people know how to take care of their guests. We are so appreciative of the amenities and the spa facilities from the treatment rooms to the lounge areas and shower/locker rooms are impeccable and luxurious every single time. Every single time we go we are so relaxed and happy when we leave, we immediately look at our calendars to determine when we can go back. Came here for a bachelorette trip a few weeks ago and it was EXCEPTIONAL!!! We booked a few weeks in advance and most of us got massages and facials. The staff was very welcoming, gave a tour before our appointments and showed us all the amenities. Our appointments started at 3:15pm and we got there around 2:30pm to get settled in. This was my first facial and second massage. The facial was soooo good, and the girl working on me was amazing, I forgot her name but she spoke a few times but I think I fell asleep and I knew a lot of my friends did too. This was my second massage and it was pretty dang good. Also forgot my masagist name, but she basically did everything; my feet, legs, arms, back, shoulders, and neck. She also spoke a few times but not too. The staff was also extremely respectful and conscious of our privacy. Not once did I feel uncomfortable. After our appointments we took advance of the amenities, which included a sauna, a hot tub of sorts, and a cold room, as well as showers and razors, mouth wash a whole list of things as well.
