The only reason I'm giving a one star review is due to the clean rooms but mismanagement and dishonest staff is a huge reason we will NEVER be staying in this hotel again. Now you enjoy long rants by agitated customers who feel slighted and are just giving a review because they want you to be fully informed about a situation you may be walking in to, the below story is for you! We visit Hot Springs three times a year for a few birthdays and our anniversary, after our stay this last time (Jan 13 2018) I quickly realized I left my favorite pair of tennis shoes (teal and black pair of Nike flex)! Not a very expensive pair of shoes but they are my absolute favorite! And I left them (get this) in the refrigerator of our hotel suite! ((I know it sounds crazy but I enjoy cold shoes and the cold kills bacteria)) As soon as I called to inform the hotel staff of my forgiveness, I spoke to a polite young man named Scott, he kept me on the phone while he had maintenance go to my room and sure enough there they were! He explained that he would leave a message to have his manager call me when they were on their way! He also informed me that they would be "pay as they arrive" delivery. Okay great!! Monday came and went with no call, and on Tuesday my area (Texarkana) saw snow and freezing temperatures, but still no call. I did get side tracked with weather and work and postponed calling until Saturday. Called Saturday MORNING and the young lady I spoke with informed me she had no knowledge of the situation but would have management contact me, I waited till 5ish that same day and again found my self speaking to Scott who told me he wasn't sure why I hadn't heard from anyone and it was suggested to call back Monday afternoon because that's when his manager would be in, Okay great I will call her! Called today MONDAY and instead of speaking to the manager a young lady named Lindsey answered and again she had no knowledge of the situation, stating that there was nothing in the lost and found book that her manager was there but she also had no knowledge of the situation and would call me back after she spoke with Scoot, but essentially it wasn't their problem. Even after I did explained that Scott told me he found the shoes wile I was on the phone, she STILL adamantly stated they were never found. Needless to say I called them back again, trying to see if they had heard back from Scott, only yet again to speak with Lindsey and for her to change the story and say yes the shoes were put in the lost and found book, but they never actually found them not only that but that the manager spoke to Scott (with out returning my call) and he said he never found them, she also stated that they are really good about returning items found after already making the statement she had only been there a week..... My absolute discus and frustration is only due to the lack of communication and professionalism displayed by the manager, if your in a position where it requires you to serve the public you DO NOT hide behind the receptionist or put some one on speaker phone, you own up to mistakes that happen at the business you MANAGE , you get on the phone and say "Ma'am I'm so sorry we lost your shoes! I have no idea what happened we appreciate your long standing relationship with our hotel and hope you continue your business with us!" After several other visits and yes we saw the occasional maybe two bugs (those red/brown looking little ones) and had a few dark hairs in the shower but always experiencing exceptional service from the front desk (actually we've delt with Scott in the past he is amazing at customer service!) so we have never made a complaint! We have always felt bugs and hairs are no reflection of actual character but after having to try and deal with management was a very Disappointing and can now understand how things like house keeping and pest control...
Read moreDO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOOOOOT STAY HERE!! Worse hotel experience EVER!!!!!!! Here’s my story…. My friend and I booked a weekend trip here since my past experiences have been great. It started when I was booking online. The website stated it offered shuttle rides for an extra fee. When we started getting checked in we asked about the shuttle service and they said they never had this service. I told them it was on the website and they just shrugged it off. My friend takes her shower and notices there’s only one towel for a room that has 2 people? Weird right? That night as we are laying down to go to sleep we notice the outside light are VERY bright!! We tried to pulled curtains together but they ju would not pull together. Very bad situation for someone who has insomnia. Day 2: We leave for the day and did not put our “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and expected our room to be cleaned. When we get back to the hotel getting into our room we noticed nothing was cleaned, my friend’s towel from the night before was gone. Strange?! So she calls the front desk and they tell her she had to get towels. Isn’t this what room service is for?!?! Kinda of inconvenient. Aggravating. Day 3: Start to get ready for the day and discovered my extra money has gone missing. We begin to search the room and our belongings and did not find it. We now are thinking the worse- Someone took it. Makes sense when we noticed a towel gone and money gone when we have searched throughout the room and belongings. We go down to the front desk and give them all the details we can give about our situation. They take down my name, room number, and phone number and said they will investigate. We go to a shop in town and were talking about how suspicious we were and how weird the situation was. The cashier chimes in and said “What hotel are y’all staying at?” We told her the La Quinta and she gave us this disgusted look and said “Oh yea… they are notorious for that!” Now our suspicion has rose. By this time 5+ hours has gone by with no word about the money situation. My friend’s husband overhears what’s going on decides to call the hotel. They give HIM the update of: they looked at security cameras didn’t see anything and if we wanted we could file a police report. They did NOT even try to verify who he was. Once we get back to the hotel it’s late and the night shift is at the front desk. I go up to the front desk for an update. They say “We already gave an update”. At the is point I realized my friend’s husband call. I told her that no one had called me at all. She begins to argue with me and starts to raise her voice very rudely. I just could not understand why they would give an update to someone who was not even registered...
Read moreI don’t know where to begin. Please look at the recent reviews before booking with this hotel. The pictures have to be from when they first opened 27373 years ago. We were in Hot Springs for our sons baseball State tournament for the weekend. We started our stay on Friday, June 24th with an unclean room; bed was stripped, bathtub looked dirty, carpet was disgusting. Went to call the front desk to inform them that we were given a room that was not ready and the room phone didn’t work. We went downstairs and told the front desk and they moved us to a suite. We thought that was nice but as soon as we opened the doors to the suite, the smell was so bad. I know this is a dog friendly hotel but not only did this room smell, the bed frame including the head board was completely scratched up. I just asked for some fabreze to spray the room down and thought we would manage. We go down to the pool and that’s a sad story of it’s own but come back up to the room to get showers and ready for bed. It’s around 9:00 pm and when I went to get in the bed, the whole floor on that side of the bed was soaked. The AC was leaking. We called the front desk and they tell us they are going to move us to another room. Again, we moved. This room was better without the smell but still lack of cleaning, especially the floors and bathtub but we didn’t complain. The next day the power went out; no fault of the hotel but it was out for around 12 hours so we stayed out of the hotel as long as we could. At checkout the next day we asked if we could speak with the manager to see if we can get a refund for our first night stay. (Btw was $370 for 2 nights) Kerry Davis calls the manager and tells her what happened our first day and switching rooms twice. She then asked to get our contact info and said we would hear back from the manager within 24 hours. They never called us. We called them after 24 hours and was told the office manager still wasn’t there and to call back the next day. Again, the next day the office manager was not there. We were told she was in the hospital with her husband so I said we’ll wait till next week and try again. Finally, we got ahold of the manager today for her to tell us that they do not issue refunds and could only issue us points which I believe is only good for members. Anyways, we were very friendly to the workers. Never disrespectful but now, I will be calling the BBB and believe me, we will get the word out. And after reading all the other bad reviews, this place needs to...
