I went to see DnD and there was only one person in front of me to buy tickets. They paid $5 for a ticket and then mine was charged at nearly $12. I asked if the movies were different prices and the girl just said yes and didn't explain any further, and the prices were not listed on the movie listing boards. Then she checked her phone and replied to a message while my ticket was printing, even though there was nobody behind me in line she couldn't wait the extra 15 seconds.
Then I stood in the concession line for over 30 minutes and missed the beginning of the movie because they only had 2 of the 12 concession tills open. Each person's order took 2-5 mins to complete and many were only getting drinks and popcorn. Super annoying all around. I haven't even seen the movie yet because I'm still standing in the concession line. I had time to write this review while they served only 2 or 3 people and the line moved forward less than 5 feet. If you come here plan for at least half an hour lead time just to buy tickets and popcorn, nobody seemed to be in any rush whatsoever, and it wasn't even very busy. Literally could have walked home and microwaved my own popcorn and walked back in less time than I've been in the concession line.
Exit poll/Update: Score raised from 2 stars to 3 Once I finally made it to the concession counter the kid was friendly and helpful, and told me the large popcorn and drink both came with free refills which helped ease the sting of the $18 cost of one popcorn and one drink. When we walked to our theater there was nobody checking tickets along the way so we probably could have walked right in off the street without paying and nobody would have noticed.
The movie itself was great and there was only one other couple in the theater with us, so it ended up being a decent night. Even though we got in 35 mins after the posted start time we only missed the first 5 mins of the movie, so they either started very late or they played 30 mins worth of previews and ads.
I did notice the A/C was not on very strong and was thankful to be virtually alone in the theater or it would have quickly become too warm. (walking in I literally overheard another patron asking for the A/C to be turned up for one of the other movies)
As we left we got the popcorn and drink refills to walk home with, and because there was nobody in the concession line by then it was quick and easy. So in all my only complaints were the fact that they didn't list the different prices of each movie (Had strong "budget theatre" vibes all around, but without the budget pricing) and they didn't have enough staff to handle the number of customers at the concession. Also the bathrooms were not at all clean and the soap dispensers were empty.
I don't agree with some other reviews which said it felt unsafe or was in a bad neighborhood, it just felt poorly managed and staffed by low paid kids with a couple police officers hanging out for visible behavioral deterrence. Will go again because it's really close to my house but next time I'll allow at least 30 mins lead time if not more, or just skip the...
Read moreMy family & extended family went to see Wonka on New Year's Day here. I've not been to this theater in about ten years. We had other choices in theaters but decided on this venue due to time constraints. I was shocked to see only one person at the ticket booth and only one person at the concession. There was a long line of people filling in behind us at the ticket booth and even a longer line at the concession. Even though I was inside and in line at the concession 15 minutes before previews even began, the one guy couldn't serve all quickly to accommodate. We arrived to get our seats just as the movie was about to play. I enjoy the previews as part of my entertainment so I missed that due to the long wait. The workstation was filled with cash registers and terminals, and no one was there to staff the booth.
My 3rd disappointment was the napkin and butter station needed to be in a more convenient location, having to step around people in this tight space. Even though I smelled the popcorn entering the theater, once the guy gave me my popcorn order, the popcorn was room temp, not even warm, and had no salt for flavor. Furthermore, The seating was confusing, with two isles for a letter, and an entire family took our seats; they did not understand, so we sat just beneath them. When the movie began, a whole other family came, and we were sitting in their seats, so they moved down; it was frustrating.
I didn't realize this theater had not updated seats over the last ten years, and there was no recline, TV tray, or elbow room. The theater was cold, and it was cold outside; therefore, I was uncomfortable the entire movie.
Lastly, I got up to use the restroom about an hour in; I could not locate the restroom near me; everything looked the same and seemed like dead ends wherever I turned. I had to trek up to the front and then go back. I should have dropped morsels of crumbs leading me back like Hansel & Gretel as I couldn't read my ticket. It was microscopic, and there were no labels on the doors as to what movie was playing. Having not been to this location in ten years, I was a bit turned around and, as a result, missed more of the film than I hoped to. With all these optimum other choices in theaters, needless to say, I won't be back to this one. The only positive thing is that the gal who came in after the movie to clean was friendly and happy and wished us a good evening and a Happy New Year. She is the two...
Read moreThe past few months have been very difficult here. I've been coming here for nearly a decade and my whole family hold A-list passes since their introduction, even through COVID. Myself and my family have been here a LOT over the years and over the past year the place has really gone down hill with the last month or two being the absolute worst. Even as far as when that rogue tornado hit through here, a roof tile crashed through the glass outside and it was just taped off for like five months.. It is clear there's a management issue either locally or providing the local management with resources. Movie going is coming back, I see it every weekend in theaters when I watch something or the slightly fuller parking lot when I drive every day, AMC please, fix your theater and help reinstate this place as the classic American past time it is meant to be!
The AC is broken and it's hot, the sound is broken in both the IMAX and Dolby Theaters(speakers blown everywhere) and most of the seats I'm Dolby are in terrible shape now(worn out), the past 3 times we had 4 different seats that didn't even recline or just reclined on their own. Additionally, this weeked we were there twice for Barbie and Openeheimer, the biggest movie weekend in a while! Sadly, even more problems surfaced. They were understaffed and posted on the entrance that tickets had to be "printed".. I haven't had a printed ticket since I got my A list account 3-4 years ago? You can imagine.. everyone, hundreds of people lining up to the 2 tellers and 2 machines(one which quickly ran out of paper and again no staff to restock) trying to get their ticket printed. My movie was scheduled for 3:45, I arrived there at 3:20 and finally made it to my seat at 4:07 literally minutes before the movie started.. yes we sat outside in 100+ index weather for 30+ minutes trying to get a ticket "printed". C'mon AMC!!!
Couple other things to mention for the management if they read this. The majority of the lights outside don't work either and it's a huge private parking lot so I would assume people don't love leaving at night when it's literally pitch black. Yes you sometimes have a guard patrolling the premises... But it's still just plain customer service stuff. The counters are always understaffed and you have room for where there used to be 10 ticket machines now there's 2, you can see in the ground where they...
