Visiting the Art of the World Gallery was a sublime experience. My reason was to see the work of the Egyptian Armen Agop. A sculptural and pictorial expression that captivates with its minimalism and harmony, leading us to inner peace. Each sculpture, whether in black granite or bronze, stands out for the subtlety of its sinuous curves and the simplicity of its forms, inviting us to connect with the present. Observing from afar the paintings, majestic black dots and delicate painted features, we are invited to embark on a journey into the depths of being and to connect with the inner energy, known in Hinduism, in the Vedic texts as chakra, whose meaning in Sanskrit is circle or wheel. The imposing black circumference absorbs the gaze, overwhelms and focuses us on the small spot of color. As we get closer, we appreciate how the pigment decomposes, unraveling into millions of volatile, dancing, floating dots, like planets and constellations in the viewer's universe, reaffirming the miracle of life. To enter the Art of the World Gallery is to immerse oneself in a BOUTIQUE MUSEUM, where the museography, the selection of works and artists, the lighting and the curatorship take care of every detail. The reception is warm, a smile immediately establishes a connection of related interests. Whether a collector, potential buyer or simply an art enthusiast, the visitor is attended to with attention to his or her desire to learn about and enjoy the exhibition. I was fortunate to speak with Liliana Molina, Co-Founder of the Gallery, who generously came out of her office and with a kind smile shared her time and perspectives in an enriching conversation. This experience was a delight, and I thank the entire gallery team for making my visit a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this beautiful Boutique Museum in Houston, TX, for those who wish to immerse themselves in art and enjoy a welcoming space. Thank you for...
Read moreMy wife and I had the most amazing experience at Art of the World, in large part by one of the art advisors there, Mauricio Sampogna. This review is completely unsolicited - I rarely right reviews but I felt absolutely compelled. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon prior to going out to dinner. We were so lucky to be one of the only clients there at the time. It felt we had the entire gallery to ourselves. Mauricio warmly greeted us and we felt extremely comfortable from the outset. We are art newbies. We have been fortunate enough to have gone to art museums all over the world but we are not well versed in the arts to know what makes a piece unique. Mauricio carefully guided us throughout both floors of the gallery in such a thoughtful and non-judgmental way (in the sense that we do not know much about art). He actually cared to listen to what we liked and didn't like from various pieces and went out of his way to make us feel at home and educated on the various artists. What I enjoyed the most was the void of salesmanship here - there was never pressure to purchase a piece. I liked this. It made for a more free environment and it allowed me to feel like I was even more ready to purchase a piece for our home. MAURICIO IS PASSIONATE AND KNOWLEDGABLE AND IT SHOWS. When someone loves their job you can tell. He is a bank of information and presents that information in an easily digestible and approachable manner. There were various pieces, most notably for me "The Return" on the second level, that really moved me. Mauricio noticed it and gave us a book from the artist that had that painting. We decided given the amazing collection from the gallery and Mauricio's presentation of the various works, that we will be purchasing a piece from Art of the World Gallery in the future. It's a special place and I recommend Mauricio to be your first impression of...
Read moreMy adult daughter and I both love art and visited the gallery while in Houston for the day. We were greeted at the door by Mauricio who explained the layout and artists represented at the gallery. It was my daughter's birthday which happened to be the same day as Mauricio's so they began talking a bit. Mauricio is very personable and took an interest in learning more about my daughter's artwork and directed her to some pieces of similar media. We spent a few hours in the gallery and conversed with the staff about the different art on display and learned a lot about the artists from them. This was the best art gallery I have been to yet. The building and display of the artwork is beautiful with a peaceful inviting atmosphere. We were informed about the next exhibit and are planning to come back for it. This is a first class gallery in every way. Thank you again for a...
