I have the pleasure of dining at Ruggles Black several times, and it always is a stellar dining experience from start to finish. This restaurant always exceeds my expectations in every aspect, from the outstanding staff to the delightful menu offerings.
Every dish I have tried is a masterpiece of flavors and presentation. The Pan Roasted Brussel Sprouts, served as appetizers, were a delightful start to the meal. Their perfectly crispy exterior and tender interior were a true testament to Chef Bruce's expertise.
One standout dish that I absolutely loved was the Chicken Masala Pasta. The combination of succulent chicken, cashews, cilantro, and coconut sauce on a bed of angel hair pasta was an explosion of flavors. The balance of spices and the creamy coconut sauce were simply divine. It was evident that each ingredient was carefully selected to create a harmonious blend of tastes.
Another remarkable creation and my new favorite is the Pistachio Chicken Pasta. This dish left me in awe with its rich and unique flavors. The pistachio-infused sauce elevated the chicken and pasta to new heights, creating a dish that was both indulgent and sophisticated. It was a true delight for the senses.
What truly sets Ruggles Black apart is the personal touch provided by Chef Bruce himself. He takes the time to visit each table, ensuring that guests are thoroughly enjoying their dining experience. His extensive knowledge and pleasant personality make interactions with him memorable and add an extra layer of warmth to the dining atmosphere.
The staff at Ruggles Black is a true asset to the restaurant. They are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, always ready to provide recommendations and cater to any dietary preferences or allergies. Their commitment to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience is commendable.
Moreover, the ambience and cleanliness of Ruggles Black are second to none. The restaurant is beautifully designed, creating an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. The attention to detail is evident throughout, making it an ideal setting for a memorable meal.
With Chef Bruce's culinary prowess, the incredible menu offerings, and the attentive staff, every visit to Ruggles Black is a culinary adventure. Whether you're seeking a delightful appetizer, a tantalizing pasta dish, or simply an exquisite dining experience, Ruggles Black is the place to go. Read moreRuggles Black has stunning interiors, and the atmosphere is definitely a highlight. The outdoor area is also really nice and would be a great option on a nice day, but unfortunately, we couldn’t sit there because it was wet from the rain. While we were outside taking pictures after dinner, one of the hosts/waitresses offered to help take photos, along with our original waiter, Michael, which was a thoughtful gesture.
The food was great! The menu is extensive, including several halal options and dishes catering to dietary restrictions. The portions are generous and you will leave with a full belly and likely some to-go boxes. Despite our large group of 14 (including young kids), the food came out quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. Most of what we ordered met our expectations.
Service, however, was hit or miss, granted we were not exactly the easiest crowd to manage being so big. We were told there would be two waiters for our group, but it seemed like only one, Michael, was really handling everything. He did his best to be patient, especially after my kids spilled water twice. However, there are definitely areas where the service could improve. For example, at one point, I was asked to shout to the group to check if we wanted dessert. When I was unresponsive, he retracted and said he would handle it himself. We were celebrating two anniversaries, and while they brought out a dessert with a candle, they left it on the table when two of us were in the restroom, which felt a bit thoughtless.
Overall, Ruggles Black delivers on food, with great options, generous portions, and quick service from the kitchen, and gorgeous indoor outdoor spaces. However, the front-of-house staff could use some polishing to match the upscale vibe they are going for. With a bit more attention to detail, it could be an even...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would! First off, the parking situation is awful. It can barely accommodate any cars and it is very cramped. They think valet makes the situation easier but it truly is a hassle for all customers. Secondly, don’t bother making a reservation..you will not be seated and will have to wait close to an hour. My reservation was for 7:30pm, 50 minutes later they tell us we are next to be seated and then the manager (Hector) gives our promised table to a couple that came in after us. We informed him we were promised the table by the main receptionist and he was very rude, didn’t fix his error and told us to wait for a new one. He argued with us and offered us drinks, but at that point, we left because it is not ok to be waiting an hour to be seated when I made a reservation (for 2!!!) and got there on time. I spoke to many others that were waiting and they also had the same problem w/ waiting close to an hour. They are inconsistent and unfair about seating. This is definitely a money hungry restaurant as they have about 6 different ipads for reservations that come from yelp, opentable, etc. to book as many people as possible and in doing so spread themselves too thin and create all this chaos. They are very unprofessional and condescending and some people left after they saw how our situation was handled. They should at least have a large lobby for all the over-booking they are doing because 8 families are all cramped standing blocking the one entrance. While waiting I made a reservation to Flemings, in which I was seated immediately upon arrival. That’s how it should be. And it speaks volumes that the owner never apologizes or acknowledges the reviews that people give. This shows you that they do not care. Do yourself a favor and do...
