VEGAN POST: This Trader Joe's is awesome. If you haven't been to a Trader Joe's then you should definitely check this one out, they converted an old nostalgic theatre into a small grocery store. Trader Joe's stores are very similar to Sprouts if you're familiar with that chain. Basically they are a smaller version of Whole Foods but way better prices. They should change their slogan to that "Half the size of Whole Foods and half the price". The workers are always super friendly and helpful. The produce department has fresh organic fruits and vegetables. There are vegan and vegetarian pre-made frozen foods that are really good. The chicken-less strips were changed from Gardien style to a smaller strip and not as yummy version. But a new delicious item has been added, if you like cauliflower you will definitely like this, I think it's called kungpow cauliflower. Its frozen cauliflower covered in a vegan batter and comes with a separate sauce that you can use or you can add your own favourite sauce to change it up once in a while like sweet n sour, bbq, etc. I like making vegan 7 layer dip and for layer 1 they have really good "refried black beans with jalapenos" in a can on the bean isle right next to the delicious vegetarian chilli. Another great ingredient is usually in the produce cooler shelves; it's a vegan ground soy meat and makes an excellent 2nd layer. Lots of ripe avocados and also packaged guacamole for layer 3. There isn't any vegan sour cream here for layer 4, I usually get Tofutti sour cream at a store that carries it. But they have the olives and salsa for layer 5 and 6. For layer 7 there is a pre-shreded vegan cheese right next to the vegan soy meat in the produce shelves above the tofu. That cheese is ok and will definitely make it taste better but if you are able to find shreded Daiya cheese at your other shopping errands I recommend the Daiya. All in all, this store has much more to offer than just these things, there's vegan beer and wines, vegan icecreams, lots of good snacks, even animal friendly, cruelty free hygiene products like laundry detergent,...

This rating is SPECIFICALLY to Petsmart in the shopping center. Maps doesn't show Petsmart, only the shopping center..

I had a return but due to COVID and their receipt, they were not accepting returns at the time. I continued to call to see when returns would be accepted. Yesterday I was told they are now accepting.

Because my purchase was in May of course it's out of the 60 day timeline(7/8). My original return was 3 weeks after purchase as my puppy didn't need the crate and had a reaction to the food. I had spent a total of $450 and these were the only returns.

BJ, the store manager was not nice. Barked at me for bringing a receipt dated back to May. Here was his response.

This receipt is old and we don't take phone copies (original was faded as we all know the ink fades. I always make copies and the barcode is scannable).

Your dog food is more than 80% used (correct as I spilled the bag. I can understand)

We sent out notices that we gave an extra month and told customers as they came in the store.

I explained I didn't receive anything and had not been in the store (switched to Petco). His response was oh well we did notify everyone.

I didn't argue and now have a complaint with customer service. Awaiting answer.

This is not the first experience with rudeness and thus my switch to Petco.

I also still had the original box for the crate. ...

Trader Joe’s is an expertly kept secret those “in the know” protect vehemently, the reason is obvious the moment you walk inside, see the prices and the products you fall in love.

The products are unique and offer the most logical food products you don’t see anywhere else for what reason I cannot figure out.

You can immediately see that Trader Joe’s has a different idea of customer service and innovative initiatives. Even in the manner you ring up your groceries it’s different than what you’re used to.

If you’re in the area, looking for a breath of fresh air, or a good deal come to this location and see what all the fuss is about. You’ll have to move quickly sometimes because people are ravenous for certain products and they sell out immediately sometimes. This not only speaks to the level of quality this brand ensure a customer receives, but the patron fan base is...

I'm very happy this historic shopping center is still around but it lost a huge part of it's character when the bookstore closed years ago and was turned into a Trader Joe's. Nothing wrong with Trader Joe's. They have a great selection for grocery shopping... but I won't shop here: This location depressed me on the few occasions I visited because of what used to be in the space. I'm glad Joe's saved the building from potentially being torn down by the owner, Weingarten but there's only a few token reminders of the theater left inside... I miss the amazing old Bookstop that was here. The newfangled Barnes & Noble on W. Gray St. that was meant to 'replace' it doesn't hold a candle. The Alabama Bookstop was a really special and unique place unlike anything else probably in any other city that I know of... Trader Joe's is fine, but it's just no replacement...
