Local foods is the perfect place for a catchup place to meet up with a buddy for delicious food. I have been here several times and each time I have not been disappointed. Ambiance is casual but the food is class all the way. I love that they give you the option to make sandwiches into salads and especially how fresh the foods are. Here is the scoop:
Truffled Egg Salad sandwich- this is probably one of their most popular items. I have recommended this to my friends and they have all loved it. The hearty scoop of egg salad is truffled which brings a lot of unique flavors and it is serve on a pretzel bun. OMG. that pretzel bun is all that. It is soft and so good.
Crunchy chicken- another favorite! So you don't like eggs. This sandwich is my personal favorite.. well I like it as much as the egg salad and It's always such a struggle to pick which one to order. The sandwich has a chicken breast with greens and a layer of their crunchy potato chips. The crunch with the pretzel bun with the soft juicy chicken... SO. good.
Gulf Seafood- now I had this most recently in salad form since I was on a diet It was pretty good. Shrimp and crab were very fresh. The green goddess is kinda like a creamy ranch dressing. When the plate came out there were these little white balls (not described on the menu). I asked the manager and it's homily... a type of puffed corn that is made to use grits with. I was not a fan of this.
Sides: Potato chips are house made, crispy and delicious I would choose this as a side or the quinuoa which I felt was well done. I had the kale before and it was a little too bitter for my taste and the orzo was a little too acidic.
Mintade- I did not like this. It looks like orange juice but is a blend of fruit juice and mint. You might try it, but it was a little too sweet and did not suit me.
This place is great for anyone on a diet or who's vegan. The menu is small but quite diverse and you are sure to find something you like. Pricing is a little expensive, but quality is there so it's worth...

I typically swing by on their down times which is great since there is minimal wait time. This time I decided to sit inside as the sun would not make a compromise with me, even with a cold brewskie. They do offer outside seating in their grand patio. Seating inside is splendid as they offer both, booths and tables. They also are extremely hygienic which is always a plus. Their menu selection is divine as they offer animal proteins, vegetarian options along with limited vegan options. My partner and I ordered the Garden Sammie, Quinoa Burger, and Vegan Taco Salad. The entrees were paired with the following sides: Vegan Squash & Quinoa, Texas Watermelon, Housemade Chips. Their Garden Sammie is filled with color variations due to the vegetables from within & with a Gluten Free Pita which is delicious & light. An immense matter to point out is the freshness of their vegetables. Their Quinoa Burger is significant in taste, texture, and appearance. I have not tasted a better Quinoa Burger in Houston. What makes it extra ordinary is that it’s created in house. The Vegan Taco Salad is a savory salad with Vegan Ground Meat with if I’m not mistaken, is created in house. A great selection of their salads. The sides were decent however, their Housemade chips require improvement as the taste is non existent. Their customer service is exquisite which is why I continue to return as it does not go unnoticed. I’ve visited other Local Foods locations and my experiences have not been the best which is why this is my to go to Local Foods location. To end of our meal, we decided to order a pastry from their small selection. We choose a Vegan Carrot Cupcake which caught us by surprise as it was heavenly. I’d recommend this Local Foods to anyone who wants to devour...

Update:
Thank you for reaching out and expressing an interest in my recent feedback. I appreciate your willingness to address concerns.
I've been a long-time customer and have occasionally enjoyed ordering from your restaurant over the years. I have a preference for vegan options, and in the past, I've particularly liked your kale salad and occasional daily specials, like the cauliflower chicken sandwich you had a while ago.
However, during my recent visit to pick up an order to share with my mother, I couldn't help but notice an energy around the restaurant that didn't resonate with me. I described it as "bad California vibes." It's a personal preference, and I acknowledge that many others may enjoy the atmosphere.
Over the years, I've found the consistency of the food to be variable, with more disappointing orders than satisfying ones. Unfortunately, this time, the kale salad was excessively salty, making it nearly inedible for me. I had to drown it in yogurt to make it palatable for my mother.
I want to clarify that my intention in leaving a one-star review wasn't to be rude but to remind myself that your restaurant and its ambiance aren't my preferred choice. I understand that you have a loyal customer base that appreciates your offerings, but I've come to the realization that it's not the right fit for me.
I respect your establishment and the diverse clientele it attracts, but it's become clear that it's not the environment I enjoy. I've decided to stay away to ensure a more positive dining experience for myself.
Wishing you and your team a peaceful holiday...
