As someone who has been going to this gym for around 6 weeks now, I wanted to give my review of this gym (long post warning)
Staff: I had a similar experience to what you see in the other reviews with going to this gym for the first 3 ish weeks with no problems and then one random day they stopped me when I tried to scan in and said “your membership doesn’t work here because youre at Allen Parkway and you can only have 1 Lux location at a time”. I was like ok just switch me over and they said they couldn’t and that I need to pay and that was annoying. In the end I got it figured out so now this is my main primary gym.
Parking: The main parking lot itself will be packed but if you park in the back over by the UPS Store you may find better parking. It’s a bit of a walk so be prepared to get your steps in. You can also park on the street too.
Gym: the gym itself isn’t something that I would consider “luxury” not because the equipment is bad but because overall it’s just one floor and there are amenities that I think are missing like no group classes, pool, movie theatre, hot tub, “The Yard” is just a random slab of turf in the middle of the gym (which is usually crowded with ppl, like the Allen location but at least it was wide enough to accommodate everyone). Outside of the gym being new and them being in the River Oaks area I think that is what makes it “lux”. A good amount of amenities are missing in comparison to other lux locations.
Gym Part 2: The equipment is nice overall! Highlight machines imo: standing shoulder fly, chest fly machine, booty builder abductor/adduction machines, pendulum squat, Nordic machine, free weights go to 150 pounds and around 8 Olympic squat platforms. Tbh I think that this location is just a flashier little brother of Allen Parkway. Side note: there’s only 1 TRAP BAR?!? Very confusing lol they have cardio machines (treadmills, stair masters and I think elliptical and bikes) around 7 of each. My memory could be wrong so don’t quote me on it.
Environment: expect this gym to be packed during the week during rush hours. The same people who were at Allen just migrated over so the congestion issue is still there. There are some machines already broken and needing maintenance, however they are quick with fixing them (1-2 weeks), it’s clean, pretty organized in terms of bathrooms, plenty sanitizing stations, gym members are cool (most ppl are in their own world, in a good way) ppl share machines when it’s busy, I’ve only seen a couple ppl recording themselves it’s pretty rare (Idk what’s the policy behind recording), if you want a gym where fit ppl motivate you then this is def your gym.
Overall rating: it’s a 8/10 for me. Pros: A good solid gym, it’s accessible through public transportation, in a good central-ish area, the ppl are cool, equipment is solid, gym is clean, it’s 24 hours
Cons: they need more trap bars, it’s only one floor, gym can get packed, parking can be a hassle, no pool, group classes, small “Yard”, no hot tub, no kids club, I heard the sauna is for ppl with a higher tier membership? But they don’t monitor it so I guess it doesn’t...
Read moreI’m in the process of transferring to Allen pkwy. After speaking with the assistant manager, they stated clearly that my membership cost will remain the same, and training will be transferred as well. My experience with EOS on gray st has been deceptive. Completely misleading. I first signed up before opening and had the opportunity of meeting Quanice, the manager. She completely lied to make her sale. I asked her a minimum of three times, if we do training, are we allowed to cancel anytime if we don’t want to continue. She answered “YES” each time. Knowing me and my partner would not be reading the contract she decided to mislead us with misinformation. We had been there 40 minutes. They exhausted us of illogical nonsense and we were not going to wait 20 minutes when we just came for a membership in the first place. We have attempted to cancel but have only been offered the option to freeze due to our contract agreement which only allows us to cancel 4 months AFTER your contract. Again, completely misleading. Now, me and my partners trainer, Kaitlyn. I advise against working with her. You’ll be training and she’s off flirting with someone new each time while we’re waiting for her to direct us. Keep in mind, we are paying for this time and she always nagged about us being there early. Although in reality that didn’t matter, she would be occupied not doing her job and gossiping with other trainers/staff. If there was a workout I forgot, she wouldn’t say it but her face and mood would change for a second, bothered she has to direct us again because well she’s busy not being respectful of our paid time. It was impossible to communicate with her, she would insist repeatedly that she was doing her best to get back to us, we show up in person..she’s sitting down flirting. It was absurd and unprofessional, I don’t care if the gym was unprofessional, but they like to act strict when it comes to money. I told her a week in advance the new month started to CANCEL me and my partners contract. She ignored us for days. We also had been scheduled during those days. So because we didn’t show up physically she got away with getting us charged another biweekly fee which cost us. She insisted that we had spoke and we where supposed to speak in person. What kind of nonsensical woman asks that when I have explained my situation. If all you need to do is send a QR code, cancel our sessions on your end, and freeze on your end without us going, just do the obvious. It’s been complete chaos, I just hope I am able to be relocated to the other location with no further issues whatsoever. (It took multiple calls and texts to get here) Go elsewhere, not even the amenities will meet your expectations. Luxury? Where? (I saw a trainer walking their client like a dog, she bumped into me lol and my trainer laughed w the other trainer…) Update; EOS CHARGED US 2x each, me and my partner. It’s all just a scam and it’s probably the worst contract...
Read moreA friend of mine experienced elitist and racist behavior at this location. She doesn't have the bandwidth to continue to fight this fight but I surely have no problem recou ting what she shared on this facility's Facebook page in which she tagged them. I get that this is Texas.. The last state to actually let the enslaved go literal years after they were legally freed but seriously? You haven't learned to do better in 165 years?? Paying customers who don't fit your ideal demographic physically have to endure your ignorance and hatred? Shame on staff and shame on the Manager.
If I could give negative stars for the racism and humiliation my friend suffered, I would.
Here is her public statement:
"Tonight, I drove 27 miles to work out with a friend at the Gray Street EōS location—and I left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and judged.
As soon as I arrived, I was physically blocked from entering by a female staff member who immediately assumed I didn’t belong. She accused me of trying to “finesse” my way in, loudly announcing that this was a luxury location and that my membership wasn’t valid—despite me being told otherwise by two different EōS reps at my home location just two days earlier.
Not only that, but I had already been to this same Gray Street location on Tuesday with no issue. No drama. No blocking. No scene. Just a workout. So what changed?
She also tried to deny me access for bringing a guest—when EōS clearly advertises that paid members can bring unlimited guests. At my home gym, they don’t even check in my guest. It’s never been a problem—until tonight.
When I asked to speak with a manager, things somehow got worse. The general manager’s go-to response was, “Why are you taking it out on me?” instead of acknowledging the gaslighting and disrespect I was dealing with. It was defensive, dismissive, and wildly unprofessional.
After standing firm, they eventually gave us a free pass. But then came the part that really broke me:
While I was in the restroom, I overheard the same staff member calling me “ghetto” and making fun of the situation—not realizing I was still in the bathroom and could hear every word.
This wasn’t just a customer service fail. This was blatant bias. Disrespect. Fatphobia. Agism. The tone, the treatment, the assumption that I nor my guest didn’t belong—it was loud and clear.
Tonight I was not seen as a paying member. I was treated like a broke, out-of-shape, bigger-bodied Black woman who didn’t deserve to be in a “luxury” space. And that’s not something a free day pass can fix.
EōS Fitness—you’ve got a real...
