A staple of Szhechuan cuisine in the center of Rice Village. Open late with great service.
My favorite dishes here are the spicy dry beef noodle, stir fried noodle with beef, fried dumplings, and pork rice bowl. The noodles in every dish always taste fresh and have that nice bouncy texture. The dry beef noodle has a great spicy chili oil and a little bit of broth that they use for the beef noodle soup which is very flavorful and just enough to coat the noodles well. Stir fried noodle is an enormous portion size that can feed two people. The pork rice bowl comes with an egg and cabbage which helps make the whole meal come together and at only $10 is a pretty good deal. The prices here are relatively inexpensive, especially for Rice Village. I wasn't a big fan of the taiwanese beef noodle soup as the broth was too salty. The very spicy versions of the soup are extremely spicy and definitely for anybody who wants a spicy challenge. The strawberry milk tea was a bit too sweet for me and the boba was pretty stale.
I've ordered takeout about 5 times and the food is always packed well, kept hot, and with big portion sizes like when dining in.
Overall this is a great place that has both excellent dishes and a few not great ones that all come at an affordable price with large portion sizes. Definitely worth a try and a place I...
Read moreTLDR - Surprised to find the food we ordered very authentic. Strongly recommend beef and chicken pot, mapu tofu, steam fish with pepper mix and the pineapple & shrimp fried rice.
Xiao long bao - although many have negative reviews of the dimplings, i find it delectable...is not as bad as what were written; dried with thick skin.
Pineapple and shrimp fried rice - very tasteful, but lack the "wok" or charred smell or taste. Love the sweetness from pineapples blending nicely with the saltiness of the shrimps.
Beef and chicken pot - ditto with all the positive reviews that came before me - is good.
Mapo tufu - one of the better one Ive tasted and I hv high standard for this dish bcos is one of my favorite dishes. I ordered every time it is on tbe menu. Is sauce is thick, and the tofu is not top soft or soggy. Just the way Moi like it.
Steamed fish with pepper mix - i find the fish a tad gamey and lack the numbing effect from other sichuan restaurants ive patronized.
Portions like any Sichuan restaurants are always huge and prices very reasonable. Service contrary to other reviews is just Ok, not great as it sounds. Not very attentive.
Will try again this weekend...looking forward to the spicy sweet eggplants snd sour...
Read moreSTEALING & FRAUD!!!!!!!! Went to have lunch with a few coworkers Friday 12/16/22. Food was great-however the service was not I decided I didn’t feel a tip should be left. When I signed my receipt as you see below my total was $22.30 and below the “ADD TIP” was left blank. Later on that day I checked my account only to see a charge of $26.76 took from my card luckily I kept my receipt to double check and would you look at that-employees are adding their OWN tip to customers card without any authorization. I called the restaurant the front desk was so rude he kept telling me we didn’t take your money do you want to come see our POS machine, I stated no I shouldn’t have to do all that if you would have just charged my card correctly-and he hung up. Later on in the evening the manger or owner reaches out to me. First yelling at me like I’m the problem than proceeded to send me a screenshot from google in regards to how some restaurants may hold your card 20% I’ve eaten at numerous of places and this has never happened. DO NOT EAT HERE THEY WILL OVERCHARGE YOUR CARD! FRAUD!!!! SCAM! STEALERS! I am also filing a complaint due to i may not be the only person this...
