As someone who cherishes their Italian heritage, I was eager to share a piece of my culture with my fiancé at Osterio, hoping for an evening filled with warmth, delectable cuisine, and an inviting atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we anticipated, leaving us both disheartened and compelled to share our encounter.
From the moment we stepped into Osterio, the level of customer service we received was astonishingly poor. Rather than being greeted with the hospitality I’ve always associated with Italian eateries, we were met with indifference and a palpable tension that made us feel unwelcome. It was a stark contrast to the inclusive and celebratory spirit of Italian dining culture that I hold dear.
Disturbingly, our evening took a further downturn due to the behavior of the staff, which I can only describe as discriminatory. My fiancé, who was visibly excited to experience Italian cuisine, was subjected to dismissive attitudes and remarks that left us both feeling alienated and unwelcome. It was shocking to witness such behavior, especially in a setting that should celebrate the rich tapestry of Italian culinary tradition and its universal appeal.
The food, when it finally arrived, did little to salvage our evening. Lacking both in flavor and presentation, it was a disappointing representation of Italian cuisine, falling short of the authentic taste and quality one would expect from such an establishment. It was a disservice not only to the patrons but to the rich culinary heritage it claimed to represent.
In conclusion, our visit to Osterio was a deeply disappointing experience, marred by poor customer service and unsettling discriminatory behavior. It is disheartening to see such practices in today’s world, especially in an environment that should champion the joy of sharing good food and creating memorable moments. We cannot, in good conscience, recommend Osterio to others, as it fails to embody the spirit of inclusivity, hospitality, and culinary excellence that Italian restaurants...
Read moreWent with my family in a large group to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our waiter was fantastic, as were all of the servers, hosts, and hostesses. When they ask if you are celebrating a certain event when you call to reserve a table, they will remember when you come in. They asked me specifically who was having a birthday as soon as I arrived. After dinner. they brought this fabulous glass full of pink cotton candy lit up with sparklers for the birthday girl. That was so much fun and it actually tasted good too, like strawberry. The only thing they should fix is the long bench against the wall under the kitchen window. It seats the guests really low, so they feel like they're sinking into the bench, but it isn't worth taking off any stars. We had a big range of entrees and everyone loved their meals. Kudos to the kitchen staff! Their rosemary foccacia is to-die-for good. They should serve bigger loaves of it. My Spaghetti Carbonara was delicious. Excellent wine too. The birthday girl loved the New Zealand sauvignon blanc. I had the French one and it was excellent too. We spent more than an average visit might cost because we all got dessert. But, boy, was it worth it. Their desserts are scrumptious, especially the hazelnut chocolate cake and gelato. I especially enjoyed their cappuccino with my dessert. It was so good! One person in our group was elderly and uses a walker. The valet parking is right outside the front door and it's a short, easy walk to the dining area. So it was nice that we could accommodate everyone in the family. And their valet service is really good too. They were fast and very polite, which is especially helpful when you have an elderly family member waiting to get in the car. I recommended Coppa Osteria to the family for this event. So I was really glad that everyone loved it so much. Wonderful restaurant...will definitely go back. Besides, there were at least 5 other entrees I would love to try! Not to mention the rest of...
Read moreWent here to celebrate a friends birthday. Service was horrendous. The waiter asked each of us individually what kind of appetizer we wanted. Aren’t appetizers supposed to be shared with the table?? Just one of those appetizers could be considered a meal! However, the meatballs that we ordered were good.
After we finished our appetizers we ordered our main courses. We got three margarita pizzas to share with the table. Three of us ordered pasta. I ordered the market fish because the previous time I had came, the pasta made me sick and tasted like garlic. Keep in mind that I know what real pasta tastes like. I am Italian and have an Italian mother and grandmother who cook pasta with actual flavor.
After about 15-20 minutes of waiting, the three pizzas came out. The majority of the party I was with had just ordered the pizza as their main course. When they were finished with that, my main course had still not come yet. The three pasta orders came out 20-30 minutes after the pizzas. They all came at completely different times by the way. Finally after everyone had finished their meals, my garlic coated fish had arrived! It was so delightful to have everyone stare at me eating my food, waiting for me to finish. Really such a pleasure.
And not to mention that this fish would probably scare the hell out of my grandmother. I had to force it down my throat. Not even the four breath mints that I had afterwards could solve the problem of the overdose of garlic. It scares me that people cook fish that way.
The reason why I give this place two stars is 1. The restaurant is actually really nice. The interior has a very nice vibe and the outdoor area is pretty as well. 2. The dessert we ordered was heavenly. If you happen to go here, please get the donut holes. Literally the only reason why I...
