This was my first time at Cyclone Anaya's. What I was most impressed with was the SERVICE so that's what I will address first. My waitress Chrissy and the young lady she was training Gabby were both phenomenal! They were so friendly and energetic! When Chrissy initially greeted us she had a big smile on her face and that smile remained throughout service. I instantly felt welcomed. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great suggestions. I cook myself so I mainly go to restaurants for great service and I was not disappointed at all. I will definitely be back and I'll be asking for Chrissy or Gabby for sure!!! Food.. I wasn't really that hungry so I got a kids shrimp quesadilla and it was good. My partner had fish tacos and she really enjoyed them. She said the fish was moist juicy and full of flavor Drinks.. I had the pineapple smash it was tasty. It snuck up on me so be careful if you get this. Don't drink it fast like I did...lol My partner had a mango mojito and it was absolutely delicious!! I must say I liked it better than my drink but I'm also a big fan of mojitos so I may be a bit biased. Overall I enjoyed Cyclone Anaya's! Great Service..great atmosphere phenomenal drinks and good food what more could you ask for! Again hats off to Chrissy and Gabby!!! You ladies rock!!!!

We visited Cyclone Anaya's in Rice Village on a quiet afternoon during spring break. We were among the only customers inside, with just a couple of guests sitting in the patio. Despite the slow pace, the experience was a mixed bag. The atmosphere was disrupted by the waitstaff talking loudly to each other across the restaurant, which made for a less-than-relaxing meal. At one point, they were even talking loudly over one of our drinks, which felt unprofessional. Unfortunately, much of our order was placed incorrectly and had to be corrected. As for the food, it was hit or miss. The beef fajita tacos were lukewarm and rubbery, lacking flavor, while some of the other items came out hot and fresh. Overall, the food was just okay—not terrible, but nothing memorable. On the bright side, we really enjoyed the Botana Platter appetizer, especially the nachos, empanadas, and quesadillas. My kids liked their meals, particularly the chicken tenders and sliders, and I have to say the Titanium Margarita was excellent. We debated between going with our tried-and-true favorite, Pappasito's Cantina, or giving Cyclone Anaya's another shot after not visiting since the Midtown days. We chose Cyclone's based on the good Google reviews, but honestly, I’m not sure we’d rush back to this location anytime soon.

About 20 of us were in a private room for a work lunch. Service was very good, but the food was only okay. I had beef enchiladas withthe steak meat being a little dry. Portions were small. A couple of coworkers had mariscos and only got one shrimp each taco. There was also a cold draft over the center of table causing a few colleagues to put on their coats. Parking was quite difficult and many coworkers had to leave and feed the meter a couple of times over the 3 hours for lunch. Manager was pushy about getting us to leave, although several of us got our food late as only one server was assigned to the room. She did her best despite the harried situation. I don't blame the server because since our reservations were made weeks ago, the management should have been able to adequately staff our event. Prices were reasonable probably due to small portions. For example, coworkers shared fajitas for two which looked like what one usually gets for 1 person elsewhere.

I rarely write reviews on restaurant establishments but my experience on Saturday at this location prompted me to do so. I frequent this Cyclone’s location often but I will never return again after my experience on Saturday.

Bathroom - The ladies bathroom was filthy and smelled like urine. Toilet paper and urine was on the floor. I went to the stall next to it and it was better but the smell was still horrendous.

Drinks - This location normally has the BEST drinks but on this night they were full of margarita mix with very little alcohol. I ordered the Jumbo Grand Gold Margarita & wasn’t pleased at all. No one at our table finished their drinks for this reason. We normally have (2) drinks tops on each visit here but not on Saturday. I don’t know if they have new bartenders or not but additional training is needed.

I will save the best for last, waitress & the LYING manager.

Service - Where do I begin? It took approximately 10-13 minutes before our waitress greeted us to take our orders. She appeared to be a very nice lady but little did we know what was in store for us. She came back to deliver drinks and took our orders. Our food did come out in a timely manner but it was okay. Cyclone’s is ALWAYS a major hit but even the food was off which never happens. After the waitress brought our food we didn’t see her until it was time to go. Not one time did she come back to the table and ask if we needed anything. It was rather odd & very discomforting from a customer service standpoint. We had to stop another staff member for refills on our water and non-alcoholic beverages. After this she still didn’t come. When it was time to go we didn’t see her & my friend walked around the restaurant looking for her with no luck. For a second time, we had to ask another employee to get her because we were ready to leave. She finally came to the table & took everyone’s credit card for payment. It took her approximately 15-20 minutes to swipe everyone’s card with the exception of mines. We noticed her and the manager looking around for something at the register but we didn’t know what. She eventually returned credit cards to 3 people: the 4th card was swiped twice and my friend had to confirm her order, then she removed the extra charge. She then asked me “Did you get your card back?” My response was, no. She left, we saw her and the manager looking for something like it was lost. Well guess what? She lost my debit card with no remorse or apologies. I was so confused and asked that she look again, well still no debit card. I was very upset with her & the service rendered on that night.

Management - The front desk greeter was very kind and got the manger so we could tell him about our experience. By this time I accepted the fact that my debit card was either lost or stolen by our waitress. I made him aware and he was very nonchalant & acted as if he didn’t know. He was aware because he was helping her look for the card. Not one time did he attempt to make the situation right. He looked me in my eyes as if he could care less. What’s the point of having a manager that can’t resolve an issue. He asked for my name and phone number, I declined to give it to him. In that moment I believed that giving him my contact information would change nothing.

It’s important that you don’t have any expectations when visiting this location. Losing or stealing my debit card was a major inconvenience with no compensation at all. If it happened to me, it can happen to you. It’s my hope that corporate management reads this review and makes some necessary changes at...

Its Tex Mex, it’s about as good as it’s gonna get which is never great in my opinion.

This Cyclone Anaya is parked in the north east slightly fancier side of rice village. Due to the community development around the are parking is far and few in between minus the nearby valet, but that seems a little much for a casual date night.

Upon entering and being seated to our table it’s a very nicely decorated and well thought out inside. There aren’t excessive tables so conversation throughout the evening is never overly loud and shouting, the music is at a a good volume, lighting and vibe is pretty good.

We started our meal with the ever cherished chips and salsa. Honestly the best restaurant salsa I’ve had. Tasted so good, felt like it was fresh, good heat, flavor and consistency. Very strong start. 10/10.

We then ordered our appetizer and went with the ceviche and plantain chips. The ceviche had a light citrus flavor but was drowning in the marinade. I know it’s a marinade, but it seemed like a lot with the fish and shrimp and veggies swimming in it. 4/10, would recommend try something else.

For our main we went with the combo fajitas for the classic Tex Mex main. When it came out it looked pretty with the sweet crackling and sizzling platter. Next the ad-ons that go on the fajitas and the tortillas. Finally the sides of rice and refried beans. The fajita meat was beautiful. Great flavor, really nice meat, and the onions were chefs kiss. The ad-ons were kind of sad though, like coming from a premade kit from kroger and not having guac. The tortillas though… I don’t know if it’s because we ordered corn, but dang. They came out in this pathetic cylinder of tinfoil all scrunched together. Overall 7/10.

The overall experience at Cyclone Anaya’s was a mixed bag. You go for Tex Mex, you get Tex Mex. But for the price point they are lounging at, I would expect a little more. At the end of the day they are catering and expecting a specific community immediately surrounding the restaurant to visit, which is how it should be. I would not recommend venturing out of your way to come here, but if you live nearby,...

Food was fresh but flavor could of been better. Margaritas were the best thing in the menu. As far as my experience it was rated a 0 stars. My waiter appeared to be attentive upon arrival but it took 20 mins just to come back and take our order after giving us drinks. Told him it was my birthday and he kept forgetting to bring the staff to wish me happy birthday. We had to keep reminding him. After serval reminders he just came with the cake and had us sing happy birthday. Our check of about 7-8 people was equivalent to about $200+ dollars! I myself ordered the fajita al carbon for my daughter and I to share. Now being that it took so long for the waiter to come take our orders we filled our stomachs with 2 orders of chips. When the food got there we were too full to finish our main course. I packed MAJORITY of my order Togo and accidentally left it on the table. We left and came back 20mins later to my food that was nicely packed thrown in the trash. I spoke with the argumentative manager named Frank who claims he didn’t believe majority of my food was thrown away. However that it was consumed by me(my order was enough to serve 3 people and I’m 5”2’ and weight 185lbs) which is IMPOSSIBLE he refused to give me a refund or replace my food. I soon became irate and he than offered to give me half of what I ordered which again was about $100. He also told me what he would give me instead of replacing my exact order. Continued to argue with me. Once I received the food he then proceeded to be pretentious and said “by the way you were gone for more than an hour” which was impossible because we were down the street when we turned around. Therefore as far as I’m concerned this place is a “if you don’t have anywhere else to go then go here” type restaurant. We’re in TEXAS this place should definitely not be in your top 5 Tex-Mex restaurant options.

BAD SERVICE/ MEDIOCRE FOOD/...
