Update: I went back for a facial with Mihala and she was wonderful! She explained everything from the products, techniques, and devices she was using with great clarity. I didnt feel like I was being upsold and this time the environment was more peaceful...the music wasn't as loud and no Instagram content creators. I will say this place does use more organic ingredients and natural products and if that's your thing you'll love this place. I'm still not as used to the open concept, but that might just be a personal preference. They still didn't offer water at the end of the facial
This place is an instagrammer's Paradise. In fact, there were people creating content in the lobby when I was there. Not very relaxing, and frustrating to know folks get preferential treatment for being influencers while us mere plebians who actually pay for the service get a less friendly reception.
I was excited to try the $59 intro special facial. And I was drawn to the results oriented skin care that this place claims to be about.
The experience: this is not a peaceful pampering place. You will enter into a back room that has about 10 chairs and numerous people getting services done in the same place. There's quite a bit of noise and phones ringing and people talking.
My esthetician walked me to the back and sat me into a nice chair. Instead of really explaining to me all of what was included in my current facial that I had signed up for, she immediately started selling me up on add-ons. I wasn't really interested in any add-ons, especially because I wasn't even explained what was in my current facial. It would have been nice for the esthetician to explain the services that were included in the facial I was going to be doing and the benefits of each one and that was lost on me. I really had to push for her to explain.
The esthetician started cleansing my face and used such light pressure that it was actually pretty annoying to me. I asked her if she could increase it and she didn't.
After about 5 minutes, I wanted to leave. I was more irritated and annoyed by the experience.
The lady at the front desk was kind enough to offer for me to come back to see another facialist in the future. I'm hoping that my next experience is better and that I can update this review once some other policies against instagrammers taking content all over the place can be remedied.
Heads-up: probably good to hydrate after you get a facial, so you'll want to bring your own water bottle because they don't offer water after the facial . Also, they charge a 3% fee for using a credit card. Would have been nice to know...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExperienced facial gal here. Came to experience Hi, skin for the first time with their 1-hr facial special with no add-ons/infusions. Overall my experience with my esthetician was great, my favorite part was definitely the facial massage which I felt was unique. After tax, credit card fee, and tip, the facial ended up being $150 after the first time client discount.
Pros: Esthetician was knowledgeable, itās a clean setting with an aesthetically pleasing environment. The products they carry are unique, so not stuff you would usually see in other stores. Staff was friendly, they keep profiles on you so it all seems well run and organized. Also, just want to reiterate that the massage is AWESOME.
Cons: the lights on the ceiling are just so bright itās a little difficult to relax. I understand the esthetician needs to see your skin but other places Iāve been have more targeted lighting to help with that. I do feel that if my esthetician had spent an extra 5 mins doing a more thorough job with the extraction process I would be much more satisfied. as an HCP and someone who has struggled with cystic acne for years, I am quite familiar with different ingredients and the science behind skin care; I donāt think Hi, skin does anything particularly special or novel and quite frankly, I felt like it was a lot of buzz words - ācarrot seedā, āpumpkin enzymesā, āraspberry seedā, āprobiotic washā, etc etc etc - it smells and sounds nice but at the end of the day did I really need 3 different vitamin C products? Or do I need to spend $$$$ on lactobacillus that I can get from putting yogurt on my face? (lol) Again, more time on the extraction probably would have been more beneficial. Because of the sheer amount of products being used, by the end it all felt like what should have been a āspa-likeā experience was actually a giant advertisement to sell product. Which is fine, the estheticians make commission off product and thatās just the business model. Just personally not what I was really looking for. Fortunately, my esthetician was respectful of me turning down advances for add-ons and buying product at the end.
Overall, I agree with some of the other reviews where I donāt really think the price point matches what you are getting unless you opt for the membership. I think Hi, skin is a good option for women who may not have very problematic skin and are looking for a nice aesthetic place to get standard facials...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI been there 3 times 2 for a facial and today was gonna be my 3rd but I couldnāt because I was late. The first time I went my appointment was at 5pm I wasnāt on the chair till 5:08pm and ready to start the service at 5:11pm now with this in mind I want you to read about my experience today. My appointment was at 9am today and I was 5mins away when I got the first text message saying that I needed to be there with in 5 mins to not miss my appointment. As you can see on my eta of my maps app I was gonna be there at 9:05am the parking at this location is not complicated I arrived and park immediately and when I was at the door I got the second message, and I told the girl from the front desk as she was on the iPad sending me that text (I think) I told her Iām here. It was 9:05am!!! The girl told me that yes I got there within the 5 mins but the aesthetician was booked back to back and I was gone end up with a 15mins service,I said āthatās fineā and she went to talk to the aesthetician and she refused to take me in. The girl from the front desk told me she can reschedule me for another location today and I would not be charged the $25 fee. So thanks? I guess??? Now back to my first time there THEY were not ready with in 5mins I was NOT on the chair till 5:08pm. Iām done I cancelled my membership and did go to the other location the girl at the Montrose location was very nice.
