Read moreIf you are wondering why the reviews are so high for this "trade" school, it is because at the end of the HVAC course they give you raffle tickets for a bag of tools for every perfect review you leave them on here or Facebook.
The training is very basic, but very short. It's more of an overview than anything. There is hardly anything hands-on about this place because you will be in a little classroom with 30 other people watching one or two people handling one unit.
Often times, my class left early, so I didn't get a whole lot of anything on account of one of the main instructors always showing up hungover on Saturday classes.
You will hear a lot of lies, like a "massive shortage" of AC technicians and how they "make more than a doctor." They paint a pretty picture, but they are dishonest about the reality of the job market.
Right off the bat, you will find it difficult to find the work this school says you will get. You are not going to be fixing AC units in people's houses for high dollar jobs in a long time.
Look at job postings and you will see all require 5 years minimum experience. Why is that? Because the job market is flooded with AC techs from schools like this. They don't want people who just stood in a classroom and tried to stand over 30 people to see one guy plug a hose into a unit. They may not want a guy from HCC or anywhere else with real training either, but the fact is there are too many AC techs. If you don't believe me, look at job postings and read the experience requirements.
The most you will find is entry-level jobs at shops. You're not going to find anything that pays more than $13-14/hr. So, don't come to this place thinking you're going to be making fat money with the big AC companies right off the bat. If anything, it's a good place if you want to work maintenance at an apartment complex or any job that does AC on the side or working with refrigerators.
The training experience is not very good. You may pass, take your EPA test and pass, but you will be very inexperienced and lack troubleshooting knowledge after it is all done. Like I said, too many people per class and only one unit.
I wouldn't...
Read moreLike everybody else at first I had a doubt that this trade school is authentic. 1.The tuition fee is too far cheap to be true. 2. The time frame is too short compared to the traditional trade schools out there. 3. The quality of teachers and laboratory for training are also in doubt. But Lo and Behold! When the training starts It was very interesting until the end you keep coming back for more. It does proved that not only for cheap tuition fees and time frame but the quality of the instructor like cris and alex and all of them are very cool. These are just the most common components of a good trade...
