I wish I could give this company ZERO stars.
I was an employee for Maxim before I quit.
The last straw was when a patient's family member decided to be EXTREMELY RUDE to me in spite of my best efforts to be both professional and kind to her. I suspect this woman had prejudices, but regardless... Maxim did NOT have my back at all as a nurse when she then called them the day after I met her with a frivolous, nonsense complaint.
Maxim insisted I come in on my off day to address the issue with a supervisor. I refused. Why should I come in on my off day to address bs? I've gotten PHONE CALLS and discussed things via phone for MORE SERIOUS concerns in the past. Suddenly, they want to give me hard time. I was then insulted by one of the directors of the office- a NON-nurse who decided he would outright accuse me of lack of professionalism, with very few facts. 95% of patients/families I had worked with gave me praise and wonderful reviews. But Maxim couldn't give me the benefit of the doubt on this one. Pity for Maxim.
Where Maxim should have nurses' backs, they don't. Where there have been, however, complaints concerning actual NURSING PRACTICE against nurses, they will take those nurses' sides no matter what. It was baffling.
Everything is about the $$$ at the end of the day. Wages were decreasing. No overtime allowed. They will try to avoid paying you for "time and trouble." Some RNs getting paid $23/hr. Who does that? But Maxim will still act like they're doing you a favor. They will push nurses off of cases because they want to place a nurse there that they can pay LESS. In those instances, it doesn't matter at all "what the family wants."
CONSTANT phone calls. I almost never had a Maxim-free day. Always used to get calls about "do you want this patient, do you want that patient?" Too many emails, too. Some patients I had to CONSTANTLY REFUSE. They would still attempt to PUSH them onto me. Some shifts I would refuse for health, other personal reasons. Still, the same people would BOTHER me with a barrage of phone calls concerning those very cases.
One of the greatest things that ever happened to me was quitting that job.
Nurses, do yourselves a favor and just sidestep this one. Go to Epic or elsewhere. Just...
Read moreIf you are a nurse and are receiving a gazillion phone calls and email messages from these people wanting you to work for them, please ignore their entreaties.
I and others I know have fallen prey to their immediate contract work promises. I was told I would be paid for training in house for 8 hours and have gotten no reply to my request for payment. My letter to the Director of Clinical Services has gone unanswered.
They also lure you in by telling you of steady work jobs that need to be filled "immediately" and neglect to let you know you need to complete 5-6 hours worth of testing/training online before assigning you a job.
The icing on the cake is that I jumped through all of the increasingly tedious hoops they kept throwing at me but they never gave me a single assignment. All the sudden, their is nobody pelting my phone with messages.. (?)
I was one of the lucky ones. Others have been given assignments that were never real patients, had their cases pulled, had 2 nurses assigned to the same case, or even given (VERY) outdated addresses to drive to only to be sent home. If you have like experience, please submit a review and also file a complaint with the state, the ANA and your...
Read moreI am beyond pleased with the services that my husband is receiving from Maxim Healthcare. The staff here is very professional and will keep you informed in every step of the admission process. They have a well organized team and they all work together. The staff at Maxim is amazing. (Cindy, Lorraine, Luwana and Gabby) I worked with Gabby the most and she was awesome she did her due dilligence and worked very hard going back and forth with insurance to get what was needed to get my husband admitted. She set up meet and greets so that we could meet different nurses before they came into our home. I was able to get good nurses and they are taking good care of my husband. The nurses are dependable, reliable, honest and caring. They are great! They have taken alot of stress off of me. They are a huge help to me and my family!
