I just visited Parivar Grocers in Houston, and I have to say, it’s an absolute for anyone looking for authentic Indian groceries, especially if you’re focused on Gujarati and Jain food items! The store is well-organized, clean, and stocked with a wide variety of products. From fresh produce to spices, snacks, and frozen goods, they have everything you need to recreate your favorite Indian dishes at home. I was particularly impressed by the freshness and quality of their fruits and vegetables, which can sometimes be a hit or miss at other stores. Parivar Grocers excels in catering to the needs of the Gujarati and Jain communities. The spice aisle is a treasure trove, with an extensive selection that caters to every cooking need. Whether you’re looking for whole spices, ground spices, or spice mixes, Parivar Grocers has it all. Their selection of rice, lentils, and flours is also impressive, with multiple brands to choose from. The store features a wide range of traditional Gujarati snacks and sweets, from dhokla to fafda, and the specialty items needed for Jain cooking, ensuring you can find everything you need for a vegetarian or vegan diet free from root vegetables. The staff is friendly and always ready to help you find what you need. They are knowledgeable about the products and can offer great recommendations if you’re trying something new. The checkout process is smooth, and I appreciate the ample parking available, which makes shopping here very convenient. What sets Parivar Grocers apart is the overall shopping experience. It’s not just a grocery store; it’s a place where you can find a sense of community and connection to Indian culture. The store often has special promotions and events, which add to the vibrant atmosphere. If you’re in Houston and looking for a one-stop shop for all your Gujarati and Jain grocery needs, Parivar Grocers is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I recently purchased Idly Batter from Parivar and had a terrible experience. The item was tagged at $5.49, but I was charged $9.99 at checkout. When I questioned the discrepancy, the shopkeeper started arguing that the tagged price was for a smaller quantity, even though there was no indication or signage showing 9.99$ anywhere near that Item To make matters worse, he is blaming customers for allegedly rearranging items, which is both unprofessional and unacceptable. Many customers rarely check the prices charged on their bills, often relying solely on the tagged prices. This lack of scrutiny can lead to unsuspecting shoppers being overcharged, as I was. It's essential for consumers to be vigilant and verify their receipts to avoid falling victim to such practices. Furthermore, every time I shop at this store, my bill consistently exceeds $200, which suggests that the items are overpriced. In contrast, when I visit Vishala Groceries, which is just a few steps away, my bill never exceeds $150. This stark difference highlights the inflated prices at this store. I urge potential customers to be cautious and not support businesses that prioritize profits over customer satisfaction. This kind of behavior—misleading pricing and poor customer service—makes me question the integrity of this store. If you choose to shop here, double-check your receipts and be prepared for unhelpful staff if issues arise. I cannot recommend this store to others.

This place is run by unprofessionally people, Products they sale but will not provide wholesaler contact number for health issue products they sale. I bought ORCHID brand 28oz of Fennel seeds expiry date dec-2027, Batch # OEI-180 from Parivar grocers and it's very bad and smells like some pesticides in it. I called and spoke to several people but they refused to provide me a wholesaler contact info, I even ask about owner Mr. Madhubhai 's contact but refused . This is Health related and they should contact the supplier or provide me a number so I can call them and explain. This people are very very rude and don't care about consumer's health. Please see attached pics .

The restrooms in many Indian businesses in the USA are often dirty and unhygienic. It wouldn’t take much to hire someone for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon to clean them. Renovating and maintaining these spaces would significantly improve the impression that Indian businesses know how to run things properly, keeping them clean and well above standards.

The current state of these restrooms is unacceptable and reflects poorly, as if people from underdeveloped regions are running these establishments. It’s time to step up—if you can afford luxury cars like Maseratis or BMWs, you should be able to invest in the standards of your stores and interiors. Using simple aesthetics, like white walls with black trims, would elevate the cleanliness and visual appeal.

At the very least, maintain restrooms to meet U.S. standards. Stop perpetuating negative stereotypes and lazy, unhygienic habits. Otherwise, you’ll face citations and warnings from health inspectors, and eventually, they’ll shut down your businesses if things don’t...
