I haven't been here in a long while, I usually crave the degree coffee and come during the hours they were closed (go figure). I heard there was a change in management? Not much has changed from what I saw recently. The store is narrow and has plenty of tables and chairs, clean, and it's quiet.
The degree coffee tastes different this time.. Even as a barista, I could never figure out what it was they did to make it so tasty. I had always shuddered when I saw how the coffee stream from the machine and the milk was beyond scalding. But it was always so delicious! The current coffee had a bite to it - more "coffee" like (or as folks will say, "stronger"). The espresso machine was probably used the way it should.. Milk is still pretty hot but it pairs well with this style of drink. Not sure what is missing from my favorite cup, it's still a decent coffee drink.
I also tried something called Haleem, a delicious spicy stew with a wedge of lime to balance out the dish. Absolutely wonderful! I'm glad the young lady suggested it, it's a chilly day and it was perfect. I have yet to try the sweets this time but I'll be back for those when I'm in...

This is place has new management now. It is still a Bengali cafe because it’s still owned by Bengali people. Managers are nice and they seemed to have more variety for sweets. Chom Chom is not there but other sweets are there. Sweets are quite light with less sugar. Chai and coffee is there of course !! Something new is that, they also supply of course cakes. Apart from this, their chops taste different but not bad at all. This is still a promising place and they cater their own food at the location.
All Bengal Review: 5 stars
When you enter inside, you will see modern seats, wall art that tells the history do coffee and chai. We always admire that whenever we get there. I been coming here for ages and the vibe is always great. Mr. Joe is a friendly staff and my family have chatted with him in many occasions. I love going there for Bengali chop, samosas, mithai and chai of course. This place is owned by Sajib uncle. The food is catered in All Bengal in belaire and supplied here. The quality is promising but wish they made items at the hilcroft...
Read moreBased on our experience and in our opinion. Happened to visit yesterday as friends had recommended. Turned out to be a Punjabi-Bangladeshi owned establishment. Snack shelves were mostly empty while the sweet ones were fuller with Bengali sweets. The owner was pleasant and eager to please …ordered Kumbakonam coffee as recommended by her - we asked for strong coffee. The brew came in a to-go cup with lid and not in the traditional South Indian tumbler and katori. Coffee was ok - not strong and nothing special. Also ordered several chops and sweets to go; again at the owner’s recommendation, ordered a Chana chaat and fish chop to eat at the restaurant. These dishes were delicious - spicy, fresh and tasty. The sweets were okay; nothing special, but expensive. The whole affair set us back $57, including taxes and tips - pricey for the quality and quantity on offer. Would visit again mainly for the excellent chops, nothing else;...
