My Wonderful Experience at Angara Kabab & Karahi I recently had the pleasure of dining at Angara Kabab & Karahi, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and genuine smiles from Saif and Harshini, who made me feel right at home. The highlight of my visit, without a doubt, was the food. The Hyderabadi Biryani was hands down the best I’ve ever had in Houston—fragrant, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, and the authenticity of the dish was unmatched. The Halim was equally impressive, with its rich and hearty flavors that left me craving more. The Shinwari Goat Curry was a true masterpiece—tender goat meat in a perfectly spiced gravy that was simply divine. The Goat Paya was comforting and soul-warming, while the Goat Chops were smoky, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Each dish reflected the love and expertise that went into its preparation. What made the experience even more special was the incredible service. Saif and Harshini were attentive, kind, and ensured every aspect of the meal was perfect. Their passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere was evident, and it made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. If you’re on the hunt for lip-smacking, authentic blend of Hyderabadi & Mughlai cuisine in Houston, Angara Kabab & Karahi is an absolute must-visit. Whether it’s the exquisite food, the warm hospitality, or the exceptional customer service, this place truly stands out. I can’t wait to return for another round of their incredibleĀ dishes!

This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was absolutely disgusting — hardly any meat pieces in the dish, and to make matters worse, we even found a cockroach in the food. When we brought it up, the server casually said, ā€œIt won’t happen again.ā€ That’s it. No apology at all. From the very start, the server’s behavior was extremely rude. They didn’t even bring menus to the table — we had to get them ourselves. On top of that, we ordered one dish and they brought us another. When we immediately pointed out the mistake, they insisted we had ordered it. Is this really how you hire and train staff? There was no greeting, no courtesy, nothing. If the owner is really watching and if you have cameras with microphones, go back and check. This place completely fails at basic hygiene, customer service, and respect. Definitely not recommended.

Wow! Shinwari has one of the best Hyderabadi Haleem and goat biryani we have tried! Loved visiting and trying their unique fusion dishes (mostly Indo-pak that we tried) made by their Hyderabadi chef along with some Afghan dishes! Also the service and hospitality were amazing! They also have a weekend buffet and Afghani items available as well! - Chicken and goat biryani: authentic hyderabadi traditional flavor with hyderabadi mirchi ka salan -Red Chicken curry and naan was really flavorful, -Rumali roti was super soft and melts in your mouth -Chicken 65 and naan: spicy fried chicken appetizer- definitely amazingšŸ”„ -Desserts: hyderabadi shahi Tukra and double ka meetha At the end of the meal we enjoyed the Kawa teaā˜•ļø šŸ“5901 Hillcroft St, Houston, TX

Granted, this week is rough, but customer service is bad. Place is dirty and limited food I had to get the menus as she was too busy on her phone typing. Her child lay in one of the cubicles, creating a hazardous condition

The woman kept repeating what she had available, and it made no sense . Btw, all three of us could not understand her. Her voice was so full of something that I suggested to her to write it down on a piece of paper, and she was indignant. As you see from her reply, she does not understand customer service. She has issues with truth also. So when she gets a poor review, she throws ageism and religion.

If you have chicken, you should be able to make chicken dishes. Another restaurant down the street with the same issue had a much better attitude and great customer service.

I don't believe in paid fake reviews and not going back. One paid reviewer was there, and I knew her. There are several other restaurants in the immediate area that are better quality and definitely better customer service.

It's not going to last long in Houston. There are too many choices. BTW, I did not see the defense of bad hygienic conditions or high prices mentioned by other non-paid reviews.

The woman who answered my review with insults about my age? Wow. I suggested you write the limited menu down what you had instead of repeating it with poor language skills. A reasonable request.

You are the most rude person I had to deal with in a long time. You won't last long. Don't insult customers who write reviews. Humility, wow? Really? You are the one with the worst customer service and attitude. Do you see how many reviews I write?

Google needs to stop the paid reviewers or at least get them to...

I’m editing my 4 star review to being a single star even though in my opinion they deserve none but Google is generous towards such incompetence ! Their bewildering rates are comparable to those of the fine dining restaurants! They charge 14.99 for a chicken karahi (be it any of those on the menu) and serve it in the smallest plastic bowl available which typically is used for appetizers in other restaurants! Upon noticing once home after a 50 min drive with the takeout I was taken aback! I called this establishment and told them how the amount given is just a single serving and won’t suffice for two people that don’t require much to fill to begin with! The employee at the desk proceeded to tell me how the serving I received is a ā€œuniversal standardā€! I have been around the globe to many countries (also, born and brought up in the GCC Middle East for reference) and never before payed 1,400 inr/55 aed for a single karahi suitable for a single person! If this was ANY OTHER restaurant they’d have compensated seeing they had a dud and were unsatisfactory towards a customer in terms of service but no, they assumed that being argumentative would mean rectification! That being said the biryani isn’t Hyderabadi anymore but from anywhere else that I don’t know of! I tried giving it a shot more than thrice but the non basmati rice, too much chicken and unmixed layers every single time of the biryani make it an immense letdown! There’s also been times when the biryani we received had been evidently mixed and reheated with stale rice for the reason of bulk to just complete an order I suppose. Otherwise why would anyone in their right...

We recently visited Angara Kabab and Karahi in Houston, mainly because it was one of the few restaurants open late at night. It’s definitely a convenient spot if you’re out late and looking for somewhere to grab a meal when most other places are closed.

The restaurant has a casual setup, and while the service was decent, the overall experience was just okay. We didn’t go in with high expectations, but even then, the food felt pretty average. The menu is large, with plenty of options ranging from kababs to curries, but nothing we tried really stood out as exceptional. The flavors were fine, but not the kind of dishes that make you want to come back again and again.

We ordered a few items, and while they were served fairly quickly, the taste was a bit underwhelming. The kababs were seasoned decently but lacked the juiciness and depth of flavor that you’d expect from a place specializing in grilled meats. The karahi had a nice aroma but tasted fairly standard—good enough to eat, but not memorable. Portion sizes were reasonable, and prices were in line with other similar restaurants, so at least it felt like fair value.

If there’s one strong point, it’s the convenience of the late-night hours. That’s really what makes Angara Kabab and Karahi stand out. When most other restaurants have closed, this place is still open, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Overall, Angara Kabab and Karahi is not a bad choice if you’re hungry late at night and short on options. But if you’re looking for extraordinary flavors or something truly special, this may not be the place. It’s more of a convenient stop than a...
