I think this is the cleanest, tidiest and safest range I've ever been to. I'd strongly recommend it for bringing inexperienced or younger shooters as it will give them a good environment to learn in. I really appreciate that everything is new and well kept, it's well lit and the ventilation system keeps the air feeling super clean. Additionally, the counter staff has always been kind and helpful and eager to talk about the guns they have for sale and rent. Their ammo and gear isn't competitively priced to what you can find on the internet but is cheaper than other local stores and ranges. My only complaints are less to do with the store and more to do with corporate policies and store design. They do not allow rapid fire (anything more than a double tap, I believe) and make their range officers enforce a long list of somewhat arbitrary policies. Most of the time the Range Officers have been firm but polite in their interactions with me and the other shooters around me. While I think this does cut down on some of the bad behavior I see at other ranges, it's definitely not where I'd want to go as a more experienced shooter. I also think their lanes are too narrow, which can be an issue working with new shooters or trying to load magazines at the bay while someone else shoots (you cannot load magazines outside of the bay). Lastly, almost every time I've been there, they've been out of hand soap at the sinks. I really love that they have the sinks right outside of the shooting area to clean harmful chemicals off my hands but without soap, it's mostly pointless. Negatives aside, I'd highly recommend giving them a visit and checking out their...
Read moreI was next door renting a car when I stopped in to check the place out. They had the two guns (Staccato and Prodigy) I wanted to test before a purchase, so it worked out. I didn't have any gear with me but was able to rent the guns, eyes, ears, and buy ammo without any issues.
The staff was incredible. Impressively knowledgeable on firearms, which I appreciate. Extremely accommodating, honest and friendly. Firearms can be intimidating to some and I can see how these folks would be able to make it easy for anyone. But at the same time they interact with gun nuts at a high level too.
You can get some real good deals, especially on ammo. Most guns are at retail price, but there are some good deals on certain ones. Good selection too, including many high quality models. Range prices are a bit high, but I'd pay the extra for a clean, safe, convenient location. I'd imagine range fees make up much of their profit, so having a larger selection of rentals would be nice. Sometimes I go to a range to get the opportunity to shoot guns I could never own.
Overall a solid range and store with...
Read moreI recently visited this store and my review is primarily focused on the store itself. The store is brand new and appears to be well-maintained.
In regards to the fees, be prepared to pay a range waiver fee which seemed strange to me as I have never had to pay a waiver fee at any other range. Additionally, the targets are not included in the range fee, which is different from other ranges I have visited. The range fee is also higher than other ranges in the Houston area.
The range itself is a new facility and is therefore clean and well-maintained. However, the lanes are quite congested, which means there is limited space to set up equipment. Additionally, the lanes only extend to 15 yards and therefore it is not as enjoyable to shoot firearms larger than 9mm. The target retrieval system is also subpar, as it is not digital and requires manual alignment. This system almost hit me in the face when I brought it back to its home position.
On the other hand, the store has an impressive collection of rental guns which are worth trying. Overall, I would consider this place more of a gun store than...
