Read moreUPDATE So as you can see below the owner chose to respond to my comment about the price of the food (which by the way $8 for a SMALL arepa is a lot to pay for just plain cheese.) However, did not want to own up to the quality of the food served. At the end of the day the food was bad. So if you pay $1 or $20 it still ended up in the garbage because it tasted and looked horrible.
I gave them one star just so that I can post this review HOWEVER if possible I would have given this negative 5 stars. I paid $22 for TWO arrepas. Unbelievable I thought maybe they are really big. Boy was I WRONG. The lady at the restaurant handed me a tiny small oily paper bag and before she gave me this tiny bag containing my $22 dollar worth of arrepas she asked me for PROOF that I was the one that actually purchased this item. Once at my desk I opened this package and took a look at the mess within. The arrepa was drenched in old oil cheese was congealed to the sides hard and crunchy the arrepa itself was lukewarm and the contents inside just thrown in there. It was the most unappetizing item I have EVER ordered in my entire life. After paying $22 I tried to eat this and could not. I had to spit the food out. My stomach was hurting after a few bites. In the trash is where my entire meal went. Save your money DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND YOUR...

Last week, I visited Sabor Venezolano on Westheimer for a late lunch, hoping for an authentic Venezuelan culinary experience. Unfortunately, the visit was largely a letdown, especially considering I've enjoyed Venezuelan cuisine in several other countries.
I ordered a soup that was advertised to contain rib meat. What arrived was an unappetizing, likely reheated, and certainly not-so-fresh soup. The "rib meat" itself was a small, frozen, unthawed piece still on the bone, loaded with an unappealing amount of fat tissue. The portion of meat was far from generous, leaving much to be desired in terms of quality and quantity.
While the waitress and cashier were polite and friendly, the overall cleanliness of the establishment was a concern. The dining area felt unkempt, adding to the less-than-pleasant atmosphere. The impression worsened even before stepping inside, as the parking lot had noticeable broken glass shards, suggesting a recent car break-in – an unsettling sight.
Given the poor quality of the food and the cleanliness issues, despite the pleasant staff, I will not be returning to Sabor Venezolano. It failed to meet the standards I've come to expect from Venezuelan...
