Scottish Inns & Suites West Sam Pkwy S Houston, TX — Attraction in Houston

I had an unexpected very late night, flight cancellation and all hotels in the area were booked. This was the only room I could find, and the staff were very friendly on the phone. When I arrived and went into my room the strong stench of cigarettes immediately hit me. There was unknown brown splatter on the walls in lots of random places and the carpet was stained . All I needed was a clean bed so I pulled down the sheets and roaches ran across the bed and under the mattress . When I moved the mattress, there was a lot trash under the frame and more roaches came running out . The same thing happened with the second bed. I am not a bug expert but I think they were roaches. There were also no bed bug covers on the mattress's. By this time, it was so late that all I could do was sit in the room with the light on watching the bugs crawl in and out from around the bed frame, in and out of the covers, and bedside table wishing it was daylight so I could go back to the airport to sit. The toilet seat was not attached and was resting on top of the lid and I felt uncomfortable touching it with my hands to move it . I had asked for a 9 am shuttle before I knew the condition of the room . Once I couldn’t take it anymore I asked the man at the front desk to get an earlier shuttle for me , and he did . I was skeptical about this hotel because of the area but it’s very well take care of inside and out !!! Beautiful landscape and lighting around the property. The room was huge and roomy . Bed was super comfortable. Clean room , bedding and restroom. For the price I was very pleased . I didn’t have no problems with the room or the staff. Lady who helped me was very nice and the owner always checking on his property making sure it’s running smooth . The housekeeping is almost all day and night . Ice machine works just fine they have a snack vending machine inside office . The WiFi was great I never had any problems with it very fast speed too. Very disappointed with the fact I booked for a non-smoking room online. When they gave me the key and I entered the room, it was definitely not non-smoking. At the front, they now tell me that there were no non-smoking room available. They also have a policy in which after they give you the key, there are no refunds. So I feel bamboozled.
