This is my favorite Tecovas in the US. I’ve gone to stores in multiple states —- and lived in Dallas, and this by far, the best! They’ve been consistent and helpful with all of my purchases. Even when I went through some order challenges during the Black Friday sale last year, they worked hard to make it right.
Karina is running a solid ship! She has such a positive outlook and kind demeanor —- I came in on a whim the other day with a buddy and because she was so knowledgeable and informative about the product (and made another situation with my current buffalo boots, right) I ended up committing to buying 4 pairs of pants and a white tee upon restocking. Which leads to my next highlight — they didn’t have my size and she helped me determine the right time to come back and acquire the pants and tee before leaving for a long ride up north.
Will and Katy have been helping me out as well, while intentionally serving each customer, handling inventory, and encouraging me after receiving tough news. Their product knowledge is stellar —- they helped me navigate the differences between the leathers and differentiation from my previous boot maker.
Honestly, this place just a peaceful place to come, have a drink, get some great clothing, and feel that neighborhood joy so many mainstream store miss. I hope Tecovas realizes the asset they have in this team that serves the community so well. (They had a fun community scavenger hunt that was going on in Rice Village and Tecovas was one of the stops. They’re just a great store, with great employees, and great products).
Thanks again Karina, Katie, and Will. Y’all are...
Read moreThe quality is great and workmanship are fantastic! Customer Service via the 833# great! Houston Rice Village Customer Service....not so much.
@Tecova, got a belt from the Houston Rice Village location in December. Wore it for to the Rodeo and noticed that the embossing of my initials were upside down. Annoying but not devastating. Called Customer Service, spoke with "Alice" and she said that yep, that was the stores mistake and they would be able to make it right. Called the store, spoke with the Mgr and said that his hands were tied. That all embossed items were final sale. Told the guy that it's not like I want them undo an ex-girlfriends name, you embossed my initials UPSIDE DOWN. A sorry and a "call customer service" was all I got. Called customer service and they referred me back to the store.
All this for a $70 belt. Guys. Fix the problem. It's not hard. Had a USPS certified letter to Paul Hedrick, Tecova's owner, addressed and ready to go and then I thought to myself, let me call Customer Service again and tell them my story. A young man named "Christopher" picked up, listened to my story and got on the ball. He' getting me a new belt, embossed correctly, and shipped to my house.
This whole thing should have been one 5 min phone call.
@Tecovas, your customer service reps are outstanding. "Christopher" and "Alice" at Customer Service get 5 Stars, FYI. You guys did your job.
Houston Rice Village, be more like "Christopher" and "Alice." You're brining the average down to 1 star. If ZERO was an option,...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst customer service after I was sold a pair of boots with a left boot of 6 1/2 and a right boot of 8. I understand mistake happen, we are human but the way they handle the situation was terrible. I went up there (thursday morning) to get it figured out after being on the phone with someone who would hold the same pair in San antonio for me and ship it over night. I arrive to the store so they could proceed with the exchange/return. After speaking with her, she states that they werent responsible for the overnight shipping estimated time frame because "tecova doesnt drop off at FedEx " then suggest "if you have family in san antonio, you can call them to pick it up from our store and drop it off at fedEx" Why in the world would I (the customer) try to fix an issue that the brand is responsible for? Fast forward a day and a half later (friday, around 5pm) I receive the boots they were able to "exchange" my pair with and receive these boots (see attached pictures) the sole looked worn, and the scratches and worn leather are not what I expected from reputable tecova. I go to give them a call and hope that they can make it right, only for them to say they can only compensate me 10% (18 dollars) for this nonsense. NOTE TO SELF AND OTHERS: skip this location, not only are the very condescending, they dont care to be flexible or accomodating or better yet skip this retailer in general. Absolutely...
