Marshalls & HomeGoods — Attraction in Huntersville

I’m way overdue on this review!

Marshalls & HomeGoods in Huntersville is hands down one of my favorite spots for exclusive finds. In my opinion, they have the best selection, and their exceptional customer service keeps me coming back!

During my move, I spent a lot of time at this location, buying beautiful home decor, meeting new people, and even helping shoppers choose pieces for their homes! What can I say? I’m a people person who loves home interiors at a great price!

Whether your style is Japandi, Bohemian, or Farmhouse, the Huntersville Marshalls & HomeGoods is the go-to destination. Their selection of artwork, rugs, lamps, and accessories makes it easy to bring your interior visions to life. This location boasts an impressive selection that’s hard to find anywhere else, and their staff is top tier!

I’ve had so many great shopping experiences here, but one visit stands out the most. I purchased a stunning rug, only to realize later that it didn’t match the bedding I had ordered from Portugal. Since the bedding took longer to arrive due to international shipping, I was worried about exchanging the rug. I called the store, explained my situation, and mentioned that I had my receipt and original tags. That evening, I met with the manager, Jamie, who was incredibly kind and understanding. It was clear that she genuinely enjoys her job and values her customers. She made the exchange process smooth and stress-free, and I ended up finding an even more beautiful rug that matched my bedding perfectly!

To top it off, I had help from two amazing team members—the young man with the great accent who helped me load the rug into my car and the lovely young woman with the cute twists and warm smile. These three were the HomeGoods dream team! Their outstanding customer service turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a fantastic one.

Fast forward a few months later.. I’m on the hunt again, and I hear someone call my name. I look up, and there’s Jamie, all smiles and radiating positive energy! I was so impressed that she remembered me, given how busy this store is. Jamie is truly a gem, she’s like sunshine in human form and puts the “good” in HomeGoods!

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this family of stores & shop them frequently for my home but my God this location - Huntersville off Sam Furr Rd just infuriates me.

No matter what time I have trekked up there, it is never the right time. Each time I try to go in for a "quick look" when I'm decorating my home or a client's, that's usually all it turns out to be - a "look' because it has to be an absolutely 1 of a kind find to wait in lines that are extremely long. Like wrap around the register on both sides and across the aisle into the men's clothing section long & sometimes longer!

I popped in this past Monday afternoon at 2ish...I noticed the line was at it's "usual" length which is double rows, so I did a quick browse for something specific that I was looking for in the storage/organization aisle & found something I liked.

I headed back towards the register prepared to stand in the double row line instead of driving somewhere else only to find the line now extended well into the men's clothing section, almost to the back row where the children's section is. I was so disgusted that I put my item back & left! I love the selection of items they have at this store but the wait time is simply not worth spending hours just to pay for them!

I have also noticed this store is ALWAYS hiring & based on chatter I've often heard from employees discussing issues within earshot of customers, it appears turnover is high at this location. I'll have to take this location off of my list until something improves here. In the meantime, I'll continue shopping at the other area locations even if they're further away from my home.

Key takeaway, do not go here unless you have at least 45min to an hour JUST...

Every single time I go to this location; whether it’s a weekday or weekend, mid day or evening this location always WITHOUT FAIL has a long that goes into the shopping alleys. If you find something to purchase it better be worth buying because you WILL wait atleast 30 min in the line.

If you are someone who always buys something at Marshall’s bring with you some poor victim to wait in line for you. That way as soon as you walk into the door you can guarantee you won’t do what I’ve done many a time , drop everything I have because I don’t want to wait to pay.

I find it a insult that a customer should be forced to wait so long to make a purchase. Like I said the wait is as reliable as the sun coming up every morning you WILL wait in line.

I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder when it comes to Marshalls stores because they actually have the Audacity to sell products that are broken But this without fail is what broke the camels back and force me to actually write a review about a marshals.
