My wife and I have been regular customers of this location for the past 10+ years.. We love this place! My week is not complete without at least 2 or 3 breakfast trips here! From their food, their employees, the atmosphere..everything about this place ROCKS. Most of the girls greet customers by first or last name, remember their order, ask about their kids/mothers/school, everything. This is definitely a close knit business! Over the past week or 2 though, my experiences keep steadily getting worse. My order is wrong, is missing items, or it takes 10-15 minutes longer than it should to actually complete my order. One of the girls in particular rubs me and my wife the wrong way. I have never seen her smile, neither at fellow employees nor any customers. Just rudely asks for my order and writes it down on her pad, yet still asks me to repeat things 2 or 3 times. Then it takes her at least 10-12 minutes to make the simplest of sandwiches.. I am still standing there as I see the other girls get 2 or 3 customers out in the time it takes the girl to do one order. I'm not sure if maybe she wasn't trained properly, or can't handle the fast-paced environment but it is clear that she is overwhelmed. However, that would be a lot easier to put up with if she was at least happy to be at work! My wife has mentioned (and I have agreed) on multiple occasions that she can feel the negative energy radiating off of her. I will still continue to frequent this place because I have yet to find another breakfast spot that I love this much but maybe we should let the employees know to keep their personal issues at the door and put a smile...

Well… I JUST walked out, and it was my first time here, and the older woman at the front of the counter was probably one of THE rudest people I encountered.

Dark brown hair on top of her head, blue shirt, and a lot of eye liner.

I didn’t realize it closed at 2pm, I’ll take that… and she rolled her eyes and was extremely annoyed I walked in 2 mins before close. She was dismissive and didn’t greet me. I could also hear her cussing behind the counter. It was beyond unprofessional. It made me uncomfortable, and as a paying customer I shouldn’t feel that way. And please note, I came in with a smile and was kind to her.

As someone who owns a business, the way I was treated today she would be GONE today. Why? Because that’s my first time there, and I won’t be returning. Your employees should represent your business. She helped you lose business because she had to spend an extra 5 mins. Now not only me, but anyone reading this will see it.

Listen, we have bad days… as someone who once worked in the service industry, your customers (especially one who is being kind and smiling - me) do not deserve that attitude.

Shout out to the young lady behind the counter who apologized on her behalf. That’s the saving grace from a one star. She was embarrassed for her.

It’s like all these places forgot when COVID shut them down and they didn’t have a livelihood. I’m appalled this behavior is the face that represents your store.

I hope you take this suggestion seriously, as I’m not here to ruin your business, but I hope you make changes...

I have been a long time customer and was there this Saturday 6/3/23 and was absolutely disgusted by what I saw. Their employee. A male with a fade haircut and a tattoo behind his left ear was absolutely abusive to a male customer in his 70's he was berating him. Refusing to help him with an item that he order but was not given. He made comments that could viewed as threatening such as I hope you go outside and break your hip and also said to his coworker that if if wants to mouth off he would find out where he lives

When the customer told him he just lost a long time customer his was good, good bye, get out

You have to ask what brought all of this on

The customer didn't order fast enough for him and was berated for it. When the elderly gentleman replied "I am sorry I am not as fast as you" his response was you got to be faster than that old man

I am personally disappointed in myself for continuing to wait for my food and not stepping in. The fun bit.

While this rude individual was mouthing off about the guy being to slow. His coworker made my offer wrong to boot.

So this long time customer will not ever go back and I will tell as many people what this guy did.

Maybe it won't do much to put this out there but maybe it will. Respect your elders. Don't be a...

If you miss NYC bagels and NYC attitude then you’re in luck…as you can get both here. The bagels are definitely NYC like. They have a defined semi tough skin, with soft chewy dough, and a hint of flavor in the dough, unlike the other garbage in Charlotte. Employees were disinterested and acted as if they were doing you a favor by serving you the food that you paid for. I’d rate them one notch below being outright hostile. The inside of the store is also reminiscent of a typical NYC disheveled, grimy bagel store. On a more positive note the have decaf which was good and not burnt. They also have tons of parking. Bottom line is I’ll be back for the bagels, I’ll also bring a ton of patience to deal with the “employees”. I always hope people have better experiences than me. I’m also going to recommend their pastrami sandwich. It’s not Katz’s deli good but it’s good. I had mine with mustard and Swiss on a toasted hero but next time I’ll go with rye bread instead of the hero.

Now I know why the guy behind the counter asked me if I wanted both butter AND cream cheese. I asked for toasted, butter and cream cheese, not sure if it was toasted and the butter was lumped on hard and in the center and the cream cheese smeared on the rest of the bagel…I wish I could post the picture. The lumped on butter, was cold, had to be picked off and trashed, I had to use the one half of the bagel to smear the rest of the cream cheese out. After reading about how the older customer was treated I was actually afraid to go back in and say something about the bagel and the guy that took the order. The people behind the counter really don’t like their jobs and don’t have customer service in mind. (If I can figure out how to post a picture I will)

I needed to drop off a package and noticed this deli next-door so I decided to grab some lunch. Notably, they advertise that their meat was uncured and I got the impression that whoever opened the store was from the north which is what I want to see when I go into a bagel shop! The man behind the counter was extremely helpful. I see reviews about them being unfriendly… You have to remember people in the north are different from people in the south, it’s cultural, no need to take offense! You don’t need an ear to ear smile to order a sandwich from a deli counter. More importantly, the sandwich was absolutely delicious and packed full. It was definitely delicious and I will be back!
