Horrible experience. After reading reviews, I had high hopes for this place. I struggle with multiple different health issues at any given moment, and I've had trouble finding a reliable doctor. I tried seeing Dr. Garrett Wilcox, but never even got to meet him.
The nurse took me back (a few minutes late, but whatever), took my vitals, and told me the doctor would be in soon. I waited almost 30 minutes and nothing happened. So I opened the door and asked if he'd be able to see me within the next 20 minutes, as I had an interview right after my appointment. The nurse gave me a bit of attitude, but said she'd let the doctor know. Then when I close my door again, I hear my nurse and a second nurse gossiping about me. Second nurse asked what I was "complaining" about, and then asked what I was in there for. My nurse responds low iron, and the second nurse says, "Oh my god, are you serious?" very dismissively.
I open my door and ask if they're talking about me. They try to cover their tracks, but I had caught them and my nurse said "well, she was just asking why you were in here."
After that, I was done. I was going to be late to my interview, and the nurses were gossiping about me. What the hell kind of medical professional does that? Also makes me question if there was a HIPAA violation since my nurse disclosed information about me to nurses that had no business knowing it.
Extremely disappointed and furious at this staff. Nothing against Dr. Wilcox-- I didn't even meet him. But he was 30+ minutes late, so they need to work on that. I wish I had gotten those nurses names. Very childish and...
Read moreDo not visit this location. No respect for your time, because theirs is more important. And as for the care you receive, goes hand in hand. Reception staff very rude. Drove 40 mins for my appt to be rejected because I showed up 2 mins past the grace period because of an accident on the highway. Called to notify them of my delay on the way, and still didn’t matter. The receptionist Kristin (whom has been rude on previous visits and calls you by your wrong name) asked if I have the “MyAtrium” app to send a message rather than holding for someone on the phone like I explained I did. When I’m driving???? That’s safe. No I’m not using the app while driving down the highway! Dr Sewalish said I would need to reschedule. Along with their office manager that stared at me confused and repeated “policy lingo”. So when you wait in the waiting room past your scheduled appointment slot to go into the patient rooms, that is still acceptable? What’s the difference? I was “pre-checked” in for my appt, that doesn’t work for their records and they have to ask the questions again. Makes perfect sense. No. So driving that distance to be turned away because of 2 mins…when they were notified…extremely disappointed. This office is continually lacking “care”, you’re better off elsewhere! Good luck staff, continue to...
Read moreMy family has used North cross Family Physicians since the early '00s. As a nurse who had worked for a different family practice prior to going on disability, there are a few things to know to get the most of your visit:. Have a list of your meds and vitamins that is up to date, Even if you have a slew of medical concerns, write them down and ask the doc to take care of the most troublesome one that visit. Pls don't get aggravated if the docs are running late, yes your time is valuable, but someday you may be the patient who's taking longer or who was worked in due to a sudden illness. If you follow all this (and I have been guilty of bringing in a laundry list of issues, I have found all the staff at NNFP, to be kind& professional. Dr. Hodges, has a gentle manner and is never dismissive of some of my disease's odder symptoms, the gal back in the lab whose name escapes me at the moment has a great eye for rolling veins & a cool sense of humor. The ladies up front have always been friendly even while diluged by patient's & calls during flu season. Also, even though it should go w/o saying, the building: waiting room, exam rooms & restrooms are clean. I like the concept of a family doctor, with one doc taking care of us, and we lucked out. Dr. Hodges...
