Went April 20th as a first timer â beautiful collection of cherry blossoms⊠didnât feel crowded and nice to also take a walk in the Japanese Garden area close by. A true hidden gem in the city (last few years the weather conditions with the pre-chill required didnât happen) so hopefully will get another blossom next year!
As a tip: the walkway/bridge that connects the west and east side of the park is closed so if you park in the lot on the east side there is no way to get to the other side without âloopingâ around the south side of the Museum of Science and Industry, which is a nice walk in itself and worth doing! Just factor in the extra time in case youâre meeting someone on the west side of the park since the shortcut...

Even though my husband and I didnât had a chance to see the garden because there were a lot of people lining up to see it as well. the cherry blossom trees are worth the trip. The place was full of people. The parking was reasonable we got the $2 rate for 1 hour or less than an hour, you get to walk for at least 10-15 mins before you get to see the garden or the cherry blossom trees site. People from all over the Chicagoland come over to see this beautiful flower show the only last a couple weeks. Around this time the Japanese garden locator in the same area itâs already open and you can be sit and enjoy the peaceful walk around these garden.
