Socially awkward people working there. When I was there one time I asked the bartender for a shot of casamigos and a Bloody Mary for the girl I was with. I asked the bartender where my drink was he said I gave you a Bloody Mary with cassmigos while I clearly stated I wanted them separate, he refused to take my order afterwards just throwing passive aggressive insults. There was another light skin bartender with glasses I told her that her frames were nice and proceeded to order. This lady literally refused to serve me when I asked her white co worker to give me my drinks i paid for she told me ask the other. When I tried she continued to be awkward and stare for long periods of time. Last time when I finally gave up on this bar I tried to walk in like I usually do a guy I was guessing was the door guy. A skinny guy dressed in a suit with a Abraham Lincoln hat, mustache, and 1800 circle glasses grabbed my shoulder and barked where’s your id. I had no problem with this but the man putting his hands on me with an aggressive tone can seriously get him hurt...
Read moreI'm a neighborhood guy who's been coming to the cove for years. If your a regular this bar is like a second home, but if your not, the feel is different. Cove is Cheers is in real life. If they know you you'll feel like Family. If they don't, you feel the cold chill of a passerby. The smell is something to get used too not that pleasant. But once your there awhile it blends in with the environment. The service is ok except for the bartenders are so cool with the locals they may be out back getting high while your trying to buy a drink.....this sucks as you'll be waiting 5 or 10 minutes for a drink when it's not even busy. The music is good cause you have a very selective juke box that has everything under the sun A+ for that. I love that the bartenders have such a great connection to the customers and they are good a making drinks as well. Someone just needs to remind them of the importance of EVERY CUSTOMER NOT JUST...
Read moreThe Cove is your friendly neighborhood dive bar. If you are looking for a place to meet new and interesting people, grab a drink after a long workday, or hang with friends on the weekend, then this is your place.
I love it here because you can get a super-boozy Old Fashioned for only $10. You will also get friendly bartenders who actually enjoy meeting patrons and making conversation with them. I like grabbing a seat right at the bar (when there is a seat available because it is typically crowded) because that is where you can meet the most interesting characters.
This is not the place to come if you are looking for drinks with frills. This also is not the place where you can get some nosh with your liquor, but I have seen folks order and bring in food. There’s not live music (i.e.: a DJ), but there is a paid jukebox in the...
