Delightful solo experience at Snail Thai. It is a charming little neighborhood restaurant. Although everything sounded delicious on the menu I just ended up just getting a couple of apps. I planned to walk all day, so I didn't want anything too heavy. I absolutley loved the food, exquistite flavors and just the right amount to satistify my appetite. I plan to visit the area again with my mother and I know she'll love this place too!
Also a little side note that has nothing to do with the food, but was too cute and wholesome not to mention - As I was dining solo I sat near the window at a small table, but since the dining area is so small, it was hard not to overhear the family dining behind me, but I gathered from their conversation with the server (owner?) that they were returning guests that used to be regulars who were visiting the neighborhood with their young children and reminising about the past. The server was so adorable chatting and fawning over the family with their babies (who were so well behaved). You could tell it was a happy moment for everyone. Based solely on that interaction alone I'd probably go back because you don't experience those wholesome moments often anymore, but the food was amazing and obviously the service is outstanding so...Snail Thai is definitely...
Read moreI usually eat ate another Thai restaurant down the same road but was asked to try something new and boy Snail does not disappoint. At first I was thrown off by the side of the restaurant they sat my friend and I. It was mostly decorated in a southwestern motif and Mexican music was playing over their speakers. They even left a bowl of tortilla chips on the table(?). We were a little confused until they brought the menus to the table. Not a Mexican dish in sight so we knew we were in the right place. Rest assured, the other side of the restaurant is decorated like a more traditional Thai restaurant.
Now I judge my Thai restaurants by the quality of three food items. The iced coffee, the satay and the broccoli chicken. I'm part Thai so I'm a tough sell on these items since I'm impartial to my mothers cooking. The iced coffee was superb, it was just the right amount of sweet and not doused with tons of cream. The chicken satay was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of peanut sauce. The broccoli chicken I ordered had tender chicken and crispy broccoli which is exactly the way I like it.
We went during lunch rush and even thou it was busy we frequently saw our waitress and they were very attentive. I will be back again and would recommend others to...
Read moreI am writing a review on this place first time and had ordered delivery. Thus I cannot comment on the decor since I've never seen this place and only found through google. I used their online ordering which was really easy and user-friendly. It stated 45-60 minutes to deliver, but it arrived in shorter time. The driver was very kind.
I order the Golden Bag (sweet corns, peas and potatos) which was very crisp and crunchy. The top part I didn't eat since I don't like the fried part, but the bottom filling was really good and soft with an outer crunch. Also, ordered ginger noodles noodles (fresh ginger, chili sauce, onion, peapods, carrots and chinese cabbage) including red bell peppers and baby corns tho not listed which was fine with me. It was delicious, taste the ginger, and amazing fresh chili sauce, and the thin noodles was really good. Lastly, of course included dessert, a sweet taro root with ginko nuts with sticky rice.....ohmygod.....delicious, unique, and sweet. But you need to have a taste for it especially for sweet foods (not chocolate sweet type). I will definitely order again and try another veg dish on the menu and I recommend this to anyone who want to...
