I was turned on to this beach a couple of decades ago and it has proved to be a chill place timelessly. It is easily accessible, never "too" crowded and truthfully, the minimal traffic from tourists provides the locals the opportunity to respond in a positive way (other than a fake gesture for the saints of the almighty $).

It has become a regular first stop on or Cali trips dota to several factors: location, interstate, kids are single digits, we drive all night and arrive near the early morning-low tide. All these factors have produced amazing beginnings to vacations!

Don't get me wrong I know that there's Tijuana funky floaties.... hence the reason we take our children at 5 or 6 in the morning; no one wants to go swim in cold-ass water when they first wake up. The picture below is a minimal haul, coming in an hour late for low tide, and we have met donna extremely cool cats at I.B. Party on Wayne...Party...

Stay OUT of the OCEAN due to unsafe bacteria levels. Bronze statues tribute surfers, lifeguards, beach/surf culture and sea life of Chula Vista and San Diego. Created as a part of San Diego Port District's art program. Placed at the end of Palm Street. Two benches overlook Pacific Ocean at the panoramic wall. Walkway to the left takes you to Imperial Beach. Dogs allowed ON Leash to the left. Walkway to the right takes you to protected Estuary. NO dogs allowed in Estuary. Sadly, Imperial Beach is often heavily polluted and unsafe for all water activities due to dumping from nearby Tijuana River. Remove all belongings and trash when you visit. Recycle and garbage...

I absolutely love this beach. There is a beautiful view of downtown San Diego. The beach is relaxing. I come to this beach often. I pick a spot and I sit down for a couple of hours. I forget about life and it's many problems. I usually write poetry or rap lyrics. It is a great place to let your emotions out. A cry or a sigh of relief. Life is beautiful, but it is brutal and this beach is perfect for venting. You have a beautiful view of downtown San Diego, mountains and military ships. It is breath taking. Mother...
