My fiancé and I recently moved to IB and are excited to try all these places around the area!! This Thai food restaurant was our second, we were excited as this place is like 2 min walking distance from our home. I was debating between a 2 or 3 stars rating since the only thing that helps this place is the price. We went there on a Friday evening, I even called and asked what time they close and they told me 9pm. We got there at 8.25, and they had this annoying look on their eyes when they saw us and they told us that we couldn’t dine in because they were about to close, in 35min!!!! Really!?!? And that we needed to order to go. The whole time they were kind of rude, not sure if it was a culture thing. We ordered a red curry and a green one, level 5/10 of spiciness, btw it took them like 8min to have them ready which would have given us enough time to just dine in. Both our curries were so spicy, almost impossible to eat, and I can handle spicy since I’m Mexican but these ones were just too much, other than the spiciness, food was plain and tasteless, definitely one of the worst curries we’ve ever tried, and believe me, we are not picky at all when it comes to food. Maybe it was because they were rushing to close, idk but I was kinda sad that this restaurant disappoint us. We might give them a second try and try and get there abefore they close at 9 at like...
Read moreOrder the fresh rolls, we noticed that the wrap rice was loose and didn’t looked like before. Also, when the mango curry with mock duck and tofu came we notice it didn’t had the pineapple that we order with. We saw those little things that it could happened/missed and decided not to say anything. I comment that they might had a new chef. When the check came I notice 3 dlls extra, and wanted to ask what was this for? I thought it was for the mock duck but was for the pineapple.
Told Ms. Nancy that the curry didn’t had the pineapple, and right away responded very rude that it did! She saw it! And then I told her we ate it and for sure it didn’t had any. She went to ask the Person who cooked it! (Why would she ask if she saw it?) And she said she did and said she was taking IT OFF BUT THAT IT DID HAD pineapple. Waow! Told her she was calling me a liar and told her to leave the 3 dlls and then in an upset way she removed it, I just said it was her KARMA.
I asked Nancy if there was a manager or who were the owners. She said they were not in. I guess and this is just an assumption, that she would be one of the owners family that thinks she can say whatever she wants, horrible customer service.
The pineapple is not the problem, the problem is that Nancy is disrespectful and arrogant.
Ps. I called the restaurant before writing this review...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I have had with a restaurant since moving to the area. Not only did they hang up the phone on my husband, after multiple attempts to call apparently call waiting is to expensive for them, but they also did not attempt to call us to let us know that our food was just waiting. We ordered via Grubhub as we waited we noticed our delivery time kept changing. We called the restaurant per Grubhub's direction. They said the food had been made but they were waiting for a driver and we needed to call Grubhub! We waited on the line for over 10 minutes before Grubhub said they'd refund the fee and tip. We had to pick up the food ourselves! Which would have been fine, if I hadn't paid to have the food delivered. It would have been fine if they had called to let us know. It would have been fine if they had actually answered the phone the first time we called to place a pick up order. And when we got the food, it was cold, oily, and mediocre at best. This was a terrible experience. Grubhub should be more strict with their restaurant partners. Aroma Thai should have better service. They shouldn't be hanging up on people and should reach out to their customers. It might have been salvageable had the food even been warm or even good. The restaurant also made no attempt to correct...
