Market to Market — Local services in Imperial Beach

I come here often and the new owners that came in the past few months suck. Prices are getting higher and I’ve gotten expired food here at least 3 times. I often buy alcohol here with my girlfriend and the older man has checked my ID 20+ times but sometimes he calls over people and thinks my ID is fake. Sometimes he won’t let me purchase if my girlfriend doesn’t have her ID (even if it’s just me getting alcohol) when he’s checked us out both together and separate many times (he may just have a bad memory but is rude). The younger guy often pressures me into buying a different alcoholic drink (that isn’t selling well) and I keep telling him no but he’ll keep on insisting and talking about how it’s better than what I’m getting (I get a 9.5% drink and he offers a 5%) which adds on an extra 2 minutes of checking out. This place sucks and I won’t come back again, there’s a problem every time I’m here, and there were no problems before with the previous owners. The final straw was a smaller bottle of Coke charged for about $4.35...

BEWARE!!! This place is extremely high priced. They also will switch prices on you. I grabbed something off the shelf priced at $2.99 took in to the counter and was rung up at $4.49! I brought it to his attention and he just played dumb. This was not the first time that they have done this to me. The first time or two I dismissed it as a possible accident or inflation. After today, I'm convinced that it is absolutely and totally intentional. They definitely have a pattern of shifting prices and overcharging people. At first, I questioned myself and thought maybe it was just me. Then I looked at their reviews and see that they have tons of horrible reviews all saying the same thing about overcharging. (I’m a Latino Male 16yo my dad sent me with money for bait while we were fishing) The store itself isn’t bad but this one cashier that works there I don’t know his name but he sounds Russian it’s some old dude with a big nose, anyways I went there one time for bait and upon arrival he wouldn’t keep his eyes off me I thought ok he’s just making sure he then proceeds to approach me and keep asking if I’m gonna pay for it, uhhh yes he keeps asking and he whips out a bag asking me to put everything in almost rushing me while giving me attitude almost sounding frustrated for me to hurry it was super uncomfortable so I told him I’ll be back.
