Independence Community Ice — Attraction in Independence

I just recently have been exposed to the world of hockey and have since been coming to Centerpoint about every week to watch the Adult League. This is such a fun place to come to learn and to watch hockey as a late bloomer, such as myself, or for those who love the game. Seating is usually at your disposal and you can find a prime seat for the games anywhere. Although, currently it has been feeling like you are warming up coming IN to the rink from the frigid outside Missouri winter this year. Unsafe Visit Took my family of 6 skating during open public skate session. Rink was overrun with dangerous skaters speeding and weaving in and out of the crowd. Rink was also hosting Junior Maverick sign ups during the open skate. Lots of unsupervised kids...throwing gloves and tearing up the ice. I quit after 45 minutes. Turned my skates in and asked the attendant if they normally have employees on the ice because it was pretty chaotic. He said yes...but acknowledged how crazy it was. I should have asked for a refund. Disappointing...left before I saw...

Overall I'm happy with it. The prices are comparable to other rinks and it's maintained well. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They recently hosted my daughters birthday party and we all had a good time. They recently added walkers for novice skaters which is a big plus. My only complaint, a small one, it would be nice to have some sort of concession stand open during skating sessions.

Ultimately, I'm happy with the rink and there's reasons why I keep...
