I think it is pretty crappy that IHB decided to charge a parking fee at Millennium Beach Park. I have always parked there when I have my grandkids so they can play on the slides and they have nice picnic tables and shower area. It has always been free to park there. On Mothers Day I took my grandkids there; parked as usual and walked to the beach and spent maybe 2 hours. When I came back to the car I had a parking citation. I had no idea they were now charging a fee - I had been there the weekend before and it was free to park. I had to walk around the parking lot looking for some kind of signage as there is nothing infront of you when parking. There is 1 sign up front. If you walk down the sidewalk (as I always do) you will not see this sign especially if you have never had to pay for parking there before. I just think this is manipulative and low handed. Its bad enough property taxes are as high as they are and its really bad that we (who do not live on the beach) have to keeping paying for stupid beach replenishiment - now we have to pay for beach access!! The singage should be infront of the parking spaces and there should be an option to pay without having to use a stupid QR code. Happy Mothers Day to me -$70 parking fine!!!! ...
Read moreI was staying at a friends house along Wallace Avenue this past week and I kept hearing this very annoying noise from the water treatment plant that I did not hear during my last visit here.
They must have made an equipment change at the plant because there is a very noticeable humming/whistling/screeching noise coming from what could be the pumps. I added a video for your reference. The noise persisted continuously for the entire time I was there and I could not concentrate on my conversations because of this. I also started getting a headache hearing this noise late into the night and could not sleep.
I informed the owner of the home that this is not normal and she agreed that it was causing issues with her quiet enjoyment of her home. She also stated that she was getting headaches as a result of this continuous noise as well.
The city needs to address this issue ASAP. It is preventing people from getting good sleep and the continuous screeching is causing stress. Please do...
Read moreThank you Joe for posting the intolerable continuous commercial water pumps screech from the Wallace Ave. Water Facility. I understand the owner's of the Water Site, the City of Melbourne are tagging Indian Harbour Bch City Hall along. Indian Harbour Bch surrounds the commercial water pump site. The City of Melbourne aren't fixing the intense water pump screeching; probably because it appears the Indian Harbour Town Council & Mayor aren't standing up & strong for their citizens; when their citizens health is suffering from the continuous screeching...
