Every time I go to the UPS Store Cory has been there, captain of the ship, and its a tight one. The first time I went in, i introduced myself as a fellow small business owner and gave him an " branded Elite Affordable Gift Bag" full of goodies like a mouse pad, Keychain, lanyard, coozie, and other cool Elite Affordable stuff. He was very busy but took the time to talk for a second, shared with me how his business could help ours in ways I was completely unaware of, such as wrapping an entire truck for example (who knew UPS could do that, huh!?) When I came back a few days later to get some things printed there was a line going out the door. They had 3 registers open and Cory was at one, eating the 🐘 as quickly and efficiently as possible. Someone came in and tried to bypass the entire line and cut 17 women and me. Cory politely, but firmly, told the 19 year old punk to find his way to the back of the long line. Put 2 points on the board for UPS....when my spot was called (in about 5-7 minutes and the line was literally out the door) I happened to get called to Cory's register (if you haven't figured it out yet, hes the owner and operator of tue UPS Store in Speedway Plaza). He immediately recognized me and called me by name. I was impressed. While handling my business he asked how the wife was (I had told him the gift bag was the wife's idea), collected my $4 bucks, and that was that. I have to say, as I business owner, i was thinking I need to tighten up, and act more like this guy. Hes always there, hes doing the grunt work with the pawns, while handling king's business at the same time (running the register while networking with local businesses), leading by example, keeping his employees on point and the customers as well. Smooth sailing. That is how the UPS store is flowing across the Speedway plaza. With 5 bright stars on its flag. Bravo Mr. DeMarco. I've been to 25 UPS stores in my life and never had a second thought about efficiency, leadership, or any of that stuff. Give yourself a raise and a well earned day off. 🤝👍💫💫💫💫💫 Josh with Elite...
Read moreSpeedway use to be a great place to live. People took pride in Speedway. Now our shopping center has turned to trash. Parking lots are always dirty with trash everywhere. Stores dirty inside and out. Crime increasing everyday. Since the diversity has become more and more our town is suffering. People stealing left and right. And some of this has happened right in front of store employees and their response has been o well it happens everyday here. I personally saw this and heard this. Until these changes are made Speedway will continue to fade away to another story on the...
