There is ZERO accountabilities within Home Depot in regards to construction contracts. It is designed in such a way literally no one is at fault no matter how much they mess up. I went to them for new floors. It took a month to get the estimate after the first consultation/measuring. Once i recieved the estimate they said it would take another month to ship the materials. Once the materials came they didnt have the proper unloading equipment so they left the pallet in the street. They then said they could start the project in 2 months after that (once everyone was free to work on my project). The day they are suppose to work one guy showed up saying he had just heard about this project that day and refused to do it because it was a trailer. The estimate was for a trailer obviously. Well they refused to do the contract so returned my payment but I had lost nearly 5 months on my home project and was back to square one.
What I learned was though communication with the management; no one is at fault because the contractor is independent as well as the Home Solutions company you actually hire when you sign the Home Depot contracts. Supply chain delays and literal mismanagement all along the process but every point is covered by the next point being independent so you dont get insurance like for a TV. You get nothing.
That very last worker that showed up just learning about the project on that day of work; he is the one that has to pay for anything that goes wrong out of pocket. So that's why he refused the project (totally understandable) the problem is the company never apologized for wasting my time and treated me with disinterest and apathy even while offering a discount. I tried to use the discount but the email never responded after the first delay. They were offering the discount prior to any problems but i never got that 10% promised discount on an order well over 5k. Still have the email but doesnt matter as it had an expiration date so they just had to conveniently forget to respond until after it expired...
Long LONG rambling point being; don't use Home Depot for construction contracts like flooring or fencing because the system is broke. Don't enable this terrible business practice its at all the big box stores. Just hire a contractor like they are it will be EXACTLY the same! Same liability same everything except you can mange the one hired contractor. You have ZERO control at Home Depot; they just take thier cut and pass the buck. They dont make it easy to get everything you are very much better off going to any local contractor for actual personal accountability!
TL;DR? Support...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorse delivery service I have ever experienced. I ordered an in stock stove and microwave in mid August and set up delivery for September 20. On Sept 19 they call to tell me delivery can't be done until September 22, I explained I would be out of the country starting on the 22nd, unless they can get there before 8 am which they could not guarantee. supervisor was to call back before 5pm. I never received a call, but did get a a text message giving me a time slot for delivery the next day. The next day, September 20 the delivery never showed. I called and was told I was not scheduled for 9/20, it was set up for 9/22 so I asked if it was an early morning delivery and was told they couldn't guarantee it, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call me back. Later someone called and we set the delivery up for today, Monday, the 26th my son would take time off, they would give us a 30 minute heads up and he would meet the delivery at the house. On the 22nd I get a call from home Depot delivery they are 30 minutes out,, I tell him we are scheduled for Monday. I call Home Depot from PORTUGAL to be told there were no appointment available on Monday and nothing until October 10. (My condo is going on the market on October 7). Ever make a call and know the very moment the person on the other end of the phone makes their introduction they will be absolutely no help. So I text my son to reschedule the appointment. Some how he was able to get delivery setup for today, September 26. I received a call here in PORTUGAL from the driver they were 8 minutes away I told him my son needed 30 minutes. He says that's why you are given a 4 hour window and if he wasn't there in 15 minutes they would leave. My son got there as they were leaving and they wouldn't turn around. Son calls HD and rescheduled the delivery for Monday October 3 and for the 4th time gives them his phone number. We are also scheduled for carpet installation on October 3rd by GUESS WHO! Yes Home Depot. I am not feeling very positive. Will never, EVER do business with this messed up, mixed up company again. Thank God for Lowes, never had a problem with them. Home Depot is closer, something to be said for going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI enjoy coming here and I am remodeling my new home I just purchased last year and typically have to stop here 3-4 times a week. (I also do pickups here for work, so it could be up to 6x a week) I have a lot to do currently and for future business. As much as I am in the store, it does not stop the gentleman trying to sell furnace/ air conditioning systems from accosting me, everytime I enter the store. The first 10x I was polite and explained to him, sorry everything was new in my house because we just replaced it. The next 20x I had just said no thank you and moved along. He will even continue to speak when Iām pointing at my AirPods, as if he expects me to remove them to hear him out. The next 20x I am finding myself parking at opposite ends of the store just to enter through the garden center and cut through cleaning supplies to avoid him. I have also waited in my car waiting to enter with a separate large group or family hoping to sneak by while he harasses them. I have even seen someone say to him āI work here dude.ā I have been approached by this man no less then 50x since Christmas and am now having to coordinate how I enter the store to specifically avoid him. Which Iām sorry to say, because he seems nice/ but he is bothersome and it is overwhelming at this point the effort I have to prepare myself for just to shop here. I just want to get my things, be left alone and leave. Itās also kind of difficult just to avoid him in general, as the majority of my projects involve paint and he hovers over the funneled entrance that is directly infront of the paint center. Iāve gone to the Michigan Ave and Greenwood Home Depot for something they didnāt have in stock at the eagle creek location (both atleast 25- 30 minute drive) and they do not have a salesman like this guy stalking the door. Idk where to voice my opinion because heās not a Home Depot employee, but itās a bit much. Maybe he can be by the heating and cooling systems, so his sales skills can be geared towards the audience/ interest it pertains to and not to every single person coming through the door like people who rent, employees, or people like me who need everything else but a new heating and air...
