I came in because I had a lot of pain in my lower to middle back area as well as around my pelvis, I thought that my kidneys were in distress so I came in for help I had blood drawn for me and when it was time to put my IV in and Hispanic nurse with a long blonde wig and orange oversize scrub pants came in, and she began to stick the needle in my arm for the IV. She could not find the vein so she began to probe in my arm, and it was hurting a lot. I asked her to stop. She refused to stop program in my arm with the needle for about two minutes straight I started to cry real tears, and then she took the needle out and she left in the plastic part, but she’s never got a chance to hit the vein so she began to program around my arm with the plastic from the IV even though she could not find the vein. I began to cry really hard and ask her to please remove it and ask if someone else can come in she got mad at me she left needles all over the floor and in the chair next to me, she placed the needles in my lap, which was not sanitary before she stuck them in me then she left blood all over my arm, taped it up and told me that she would give me a minute. Another nurse came in with her 20 minutes later and asked me if I had hard veins. She cut me off and told the nurse that no I did not, but she was busy, and she didn’t have time for me as I explained to the other nurse that she was program in my arm to find the vein and she was unable to that nurse ignored me and completely. She walked out, and she left all the dirty needles and bloody bandages next to me, and she left out the room and never came back then hours later the nurse with the long blonde wig in the orange pants who refused to tell me, her name came in to bring a little girl in of Hispanic descent, and as she lay the little girl down, she looked over at me and she told the little girl that it’s OK. I wasn’t going to hurt her because I was black. I don’t understand why she told the little girl that I was not going to hurt her I was the only person in the room. She began to say to me that she told her that because the little girl was scared of me I don’t understand how she knew the little girl was scared of me because the little girl never said she was scared of me. She said the little girl looked at me as if she was scared of me. I personally think that the nurse was racially profiling me because I was a black woman. is she OK that behavior with the child and her mother that it’s OK to be afraid of Black people or that Black people are something to be afraid of then she began to go back-and-forth with me when I asked her why she said that and I told her that she made me feel uncomfortable and she told me oh well that’s a child and she was going to say whatever she had to to make the child feel safe insinuating even more that I was a threat. I I then asked her to please leave out of my face three times. She got louder with me scaring the child herself as well as security stood in the door to intimidate me. I got up to report her to another nurse. I then was discharged from the hospital and told nothing was wrong with me immediately after that I never spoke to a doctor. I never got any results from all the test they took. I was told nothing I was told to sign papers and to leave, and the nurse also refused to give me the other nurses name. The nurse with the long blonde wig was Hispanic and the nurse who discharged me without anything was a...
Read moreUpon arrival I was greeted by security who was welcoming and polite. When I went to check in the nurse appeared agitated when she wrote my reason for being there. I went to the administrative staff who were also kind and welcoming. Then I returned to the waiting area. After awhile I got my blood drawn and they were kind. A different nurse took my vitals afterwards but he did not share what they were. He asked me what my symptoms were and health history. When I told him, he completely invalidated my experience. I was given a cup to collect urine and told to give it to the lady that checked me in. I felt intimidated to even approach her as she seemed to not be in the best mood. Luckily when i turned it in, there was no issue. When I left to move my car, I asked her if there was a parking for emergency patient and she was spoke to me very rudely. It’s hard to explain in writing but she overall was not helpful and I ended up having to find it myself. When I was walking out she said well the doctor is ready for you now, I told her I was just going to move my car and be right back. She then snapped at me and repeated herself. I asked her if she was okay and why she had such a poor attitude. She disputed it and told me I can leave if I want. I actually should have left at that point because the doctor was no better. The doctor being ready to see me turned out to be me and two other patients sitting in another waiting area together and the doctor approached me and said what are you here for? Your test were fine, touched my stomach (without asking) asked me to walk and said yeah your fine. I asked about my vitals and what test were ran and she told me I could get that from records. I was in complete disbelief. She went on to the next person.I know some type of HIPPA had to violated with her discussing all of our information out in the open like that. I had no business hearing about their medical conditions. This entire experience was awful. I was treated with no type of dignity or respect. I am new to the Los Angeles area. I have never been treated like this. I do not ever plan to return to this hospital. The nurse who worked the overnight shift on Saturday June 29 around 4:40am (Caucasian, long brown hair, orange hoka shoes) needs a performance improvement plan and does not need to be the first interaction people in distress need to see. The sad part is I watched her interact with a couple other people and she had the same demeanor, along with a frowned face with eye rolls. She has no awareness of her behavior and that is scary. I believe she thinks because she is in an urban area, she can get away with treating the individuals there with no respect. I hope the leadership take heed to this feedback. I plan to file a formal grievance as this type of treatment is unacceptable and they need to make some...
Read moreWell first they lost my test results. They said my swab would take an hour and to wait in the lobby. I waited 2 hours before asking anything and when I asked they said they would check. Waited 40 minutes for someone to even come out and talk to us after waiting 2 hours. He then said they can’t find it and that I never did the swab. He comes back 10 minutes later telling me they found it and that it will be out soon. Waited ANOTHER hour meaning all 3 and half hours I waited they never even put it in. So I waited again. Finally after an hour I was sent back just to wait in another small waiting room just to wait ANOTHER hour. To begin with I originally told the nurses I don’t need the swab I’m just here because I have a cold and I know I will test negative. The reason I’m here is because I get tonsil infections very easily with puss even just a cold and if I could be prescribed antibiotics, they swabbed me anyways and since I tested negative they did not want to give me any antibiotics I requested even after they confirmed my tonsils were very swollen and red. I had fever and they didn’t even give me ANY fever medicine. I arrived at 5 in the afternoon just to leave after 11pm for literally nothing. Mind you while I was waiting in the second waiting room, all of the nurses were literally chatting before calling a single patient to the point where I knew one of the drama they were having with another nurse. What a horrible terrible waste. I’ve never ever in my life experienced something so terrible. I honestly wish I never even stepped foot in there. Also nurses didnt even know patients were already sent back and they kept calling patients not knowing who was helped who left who was taking back. I mean it’s AMAZING the DISORGANIZED NURSES and literally NO SYSTEM whatsoever. That hospital is pointless and don’t get me started on how there’s no sanitation after seeing a patient. I smelled no alcohol like I usually do in hospitals. When they give you a wrist band in one of their rooms they are not cleaning the seat after each patient. I was a dentist and even if a patient sat in our chair with no procedure we would re sanitize the room. I’m surprised someone does not contact something from that. Absolutely horrible...
