As a full time employee, Grad Student, Mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and an active member of my church spending my Birthday doing nothing seemed like heaven. But my cousins weren't big on this and decided to come in from out of town to celebrate with me. Because people were making such a big investment in coming out I decided to go all out with the venue and cake. Originally I was scheduling a tasting with Charm City Cakes West, but then I remembered trying this place by chance one day and decided I really wanted to support a black business. I looked online and wasn't as impressed with their designs but that's not the point, right? I tried calling their store twice but didn't get an answer so I put in an online request on the 15th explaining what I want design wise and I said, "I will be in LA next Sunday (the 23rd) would that be too late to do a cake tasting if you guys are able to do the cake?" Side note, I live in Irvine almost an hour away if there's no traffic. I received a response back saying that she would recommend that I do a cake tasting (isn't that what I just asked for?) and to come and discuss the design I had mentioned. I asked again if the 23rd was going to be too late for a 29th pickup and she said no. So I said "great I would be there around 4pm." I arrived today at 3:45pm, and said I was there for a cake tasting and the employees were shocked to see me. They said there wasn't anyone scheduled for today and called her then came back and said, "You're not scheduled until the 29th." No I said that was when I needed the cake. He called her again while I was looking for my email. When he came back one of the other guys asked if she was coming, and the response was, "No, she said she's not coming down here." About this time I found the e-mail and showed it to him, he looked at it and said, "I'll call her back, after reading the e-mail to her he gave me the phone." Now please remember through all of this I have been nothing but respectful to her employees, and I did not answer the phone with any attitude or disrespect whatsoever. But when she started talking she had plenty of attitude, "You didn't pay for a cake tasting!" I told her I had my card on me to pay for it then. "That's not how it works!" So I asked her why didn't she tell me of this before, and I told her I was coming in from Orange County and it was going to be difficult for me to get in, "Well you should have known! I have people drive in from Orange County to pay for it in advance all the time!" Again I was not told of this, and would have taken it into consideration, "Do I want to drive over an hour in traffic just to pay $25 when I can just buy the 4 cupcakes for less?" And the thing is if she had just said, "Hey there was a mix-up somewhere between the two of us, but you know if you just get the cupcakes now..." I would have been fine with that. But she had the worst attitude and obviously did not need or want my business. After saying we both made assumptions we should not have (no you just need to handle business correctly, read customer requests, and learn some people skills) she did end up saying, "You're not getting a cake tasting, but I'll do a design and you can buy the cupcakes if you want to taste them." I told her, "I won't do that simply because you have been so rude to me." And she said, "ok good, bye." and hung up the phone in my face. Too late to go with my original plan, my Mom thankfully remembered a place near downtown that was good. We rushed there and bought a couple of their $9 mini cakes to try and when I decided on one we asked them if they could do my design (didn't matter it was so good I'd take it). The people immediately asked why we didn't tell them we were looking to order a cake because they wouldn't have charged us full price to try them. But that wasn't the point, I just wanted a great cake and I don't deal with bad customer service. I paid a lot more for their cakes (even if I hadn't ended buying two ), but it was definitely worth it to have fantastic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit Sweet Red Peach Bakery, and although their cakes are undeniably delicious and offer a fantastic flavor, I experienced a recurring issue that left me disappointed. Unfortunately, the bakery consistently runs out of stock well before their scheduled closing time, often as early as 6 pm, despite the fact that they are supposed to be open until 8 pm. This lack of availability is quite unacceptable, especially considering their prime location adjacent to the SO-FI Stadium and The Forum. As a result, I strongly believe that Sweet Red Peach Bakery could greatly benefit from implementing some essential business guidelines. To start, one of the key areas for improvement would be expanding their stock to meet the high demand. By ensuring a sufficient supply of their delectable cakes and treats, Sweet Red Peach Bakery can avoid the disappointment of customers being met with empty shelves and unavailable items. This, in turn, would greatly enhance the overall customer experience and leave a lasting positive impression. Furthermore, a thorough revision of their current business model is warranted to ensure that Sweet Red Peach Bakery is maximizing its full potential. This could involve analyzing their inventory management practices, forecasting customer demand accurately, and streamlining their production processes. By fine-tuning these aspects, the bakery can create a more efficient system that minimizes stockouts and maximizes customer satisfaction. As a customer who has experienced multiple disappointments, I find it difficult to envision returning to Sweet Red Peach Bakery in the future. However, by implementing the suggested improvements, such as expanding their stock and revising their business model, the bakery has the potential to turn around their current situation and regain the trust and loyalty of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI checked this place out from TikTok & realized how convenient the business would be for me as far as time management & affordability . The desserts looked very delicious but I was not shopping for myself until I visited the store . I called at 11:10am and an older woman told me to come in for a purchase of 2 dozen cupcakes for 42$ . She agreed. And that was the end of the convo . I arrived & there was a young lady that was very rude . First of all there were no name tags on the employees or management so I couldnāt properly address the people . She was not welcoming , she made my purchase very uncomfortable to the moment I didnāt even want to purchase extra cakes for myself . Also, I was not charged 42$ I was charged 72$ because she failed to listen to my explanation about whom I spoke with on the phone . She gave me a limit upon how many cakes I could buy . Also she was rude enough to not even explain the difference in pricing between the tiny cupcakes & the larger cupcakes. Lastly, in the middle of my transaction after she asked if I needed anything else & I was trying to say āno thank youā she cut me off to tell me my total with an arrogant attitude. I just felt like for this to be my first time visiting & supporting an establishment that had delicious treats the customer service needs to be prestige just like the taste of the desserts as I am reading the reviews from the other costumers & the employees need to develop better knowledge of the business & customer service . Itās important for the business to know I was not happy with my purchase today because your employee made me uncomfortable . My transaction felt very rushed & was all about...
