I’ve been going to 1Rider for about a year (and over 130 classes) and 1Rider has become my second home after work. I love that I can get cycling, weight circuit, and mat Pilates classes all in a single membership. The instructors are super friendly and take the time to get to know you on a personal level. Of all the cycling studios I’ve been to, 1Rider feels the most like a community- the people are genuinely supportive of each other. Also, unlike other cycling studios, 1Rider has strobe lights, EDM music (with top end sound systems), and air-conditioning (which surprisingly isn’t a standard at other cycling studios!). It’s an absolute rave every time I come here- just don't forget your earplugs! Another plus is the at 1Rider only has 26 bikes (versus 50+ bikes at most franchised studios) and so it’s nice that you have some personal space and don't feel the person behind you breathing or sweating on you. And if you don’t have your own shoes, they offer you rental shoes for FREE. Lastly, they have cold eucalyptus scented towels and free coffee after class- they know how to motivate you!
Another thing to note is that 1Rider is a women-owned, local, small business and I fully support it! Kati, the owner, does an amazing job keeping the studio clean and introducing new classes, challenges, and fitness tips.
Oh, and the location can’t be beat- Trader Joe’s, Target, Costco, QFC, Brown Bear, 0and Safeway are all within a 2-5 minute radius of 1Rider. It can’t get more...
Read moreAmazing experience at 1Rider! I took a class with Lucy and she is truly such an amazing coach! So much energy and so kind as well. I ended up not signing up for more classes only because of the strobe lights. If you're like me and get migraines or headaches triggered by strobe-y lights (OR EVEN WORSE: SEIZURES) this might not be a good place for you. I had to keep my eyes closed for the majority of the class and closed them tightly which didn't help me with seeing instructions on my first class haha This was totally on me though, I didn't know that they had really strong strobe lights like a Vegas Night Rave in a dark room. I'm heading home from the class right now with a headache getting progressively worse so I know I'm in for a night of pain. This has NOTHING to do with the instructors, the whole 1Rider club or anyone in there. They were all truly amazing and super helpful! Especially as a first time rider, I felt comfortable asking for help. I did end up buying a class pack of 10 so I'm asking to get a refund and just get charged for the 1 class I took with Lucy. But it's been a few days and no one has responded to me at all...I'll change my rating once I hear more.
Also plenty of FREE parking! They're located right behind All The...
Read moreI had my first class with 1Rider today, the staff were friendly and the instructor was energetic and maintaining a upbeat vibe throughout the class. However the bikes don’t have screens to display resistance and cadence levels. The reason I wanna join a in-person class is to have an extra push from peers and instructors, so it's crucial for me to have very precise instructions/goals on those metrics. The studio I went before also had a leaderboard to show everyone's progress on a 45 second race, which helped me keep motivated. It was still a good workout for me, just feel not being pushed as much as I was in the other studio because of the limitation of the bikes. The class from my previous studio pushed everyone to their limit that almost everyone in the class was dripping sweat onto the floor.
If you are motivated enough and have a good self-discipline, 1Rider is good place for you.
Also strobe lights made me dizzy, I had to close my eyes...
