I really wanted to enjoy this place, because I've heard people rave about it. Sadly, this was not the case for us.
Pros: -We were quickly seated before the supper rush / large groups arrived -The pizza was amazing -The bolognese had good flavour, according to my wife -She enjoyed the seafood medley as well as the gnocci and shrimp, but stated there were too many peppers
Cons: (this is the "sucky" part of our experience) -Although there was plenty of seating, especially window side, they chose to seat us in a tucked away spot, that was extremely dark. -Shortly after we were seated, a large group of about 10-15 and was sat next to us. -Waitress took 20 minutes before collecting our drink, app, and food order. I inquired about the ingredients of the bolognese, but she didn't know what was in it. (I asked specifically if it had carrots, and she said no, definitely not. It had carrots. I'm ALLERGIC, but more about that later). -Waitress brought the drinks, and forgot to bring a bottle opener. She said she would return with one, but never came back. We had to flag down someone else. -20 more minutes go by and we get our appetizers. I ordered the burrata and prosciutto, but didn't realize it came with a rather large slimy pile of peppers and onions under the burrata. A little bit I can handle, but the amount that was on the plate was ungodly. -Our entrees eventually come, and as I stated before, the bolognese had carrots. -Our waitress never once came back to our table to check on us. Had she done so, I would have been able to salvage my supper and ask for something I was not allergic to. -She finally brought the check, my to go pizza, and a couple boxes. At this point her attitude shifted from too busy, to sweet and chatty, presumably for a sizeable tip. She asked us how the meal was to which I responded, we will not be returning. She became silent and walked away from us without so much as a lovely evening response.
Our take away on the whole experience:
If you like a ton of peppers and onions overbearing your dish, a waitress who is not well-versed in product knowledge, slow and inattentive service, then this is your go-to spot. Otherwise, stick to the pizza.
We won't be going back anytime soon; it wasn't...
Read moreAfter having moved away, I was excited to come back and visit and eat here. I always loved it and had such great memories from eating here. My husband was working, so I took my four young kids out for lunch. Everything started out great. My server was nice and got our drink orders right away and entered our appetizer quickly. He was then back again to take our order. However, I didn’t see him after that until I had to find him and ask him for something that he forgot to bring. I was nice, but I did have to get up and ask him for it. After that, I was introduced to a new server who was going to take care of us. I’ve worked in plenty of restaurants so I understand that happens, especially after the lunch rush. I wasn’t concerned, except I never saw the new server after that. My kids were getting restless and I was needing a box and to get my check. After waiting at least 15 minutes (all kids went to the bathroom including my potty training toddler), I finally got up to take my kids to the car and get them out of the restaurant (with the intention of coming back and paying). I figured they didn’t care about me enough while I was sitting at their table, but I bet they’ll care if they see me leaving without paying. Sure enough, while trying to get my kids across the parking lot safely, I see the server pop his head out the door and ask if I was going to pay. I get my kids to the car and go back in to be told that the staff was in a meeting. I’m sorry, but that’s not my problem. As a server, you need to get someone to watch your tables while that’s happening. My husband and I served tables for years, we know how it works. His cavalier attitude toward poor service seems to be the culture in this restaurant (after reading other reviews). I dropped over $100 on this lunch, and walked away feeling frustrated. I am usually a generous tipper, but not this day. I tipped for the service being good at the start, but cut it off after that. This restaurant is way too expensive for what you get in the end. The food was not...
Read moreMy fiance and I just moved to Issaquah from Canada. We were both super disappointed with this restaurant. He took me here to celebrate my 33rd Birthday. We wanted a romantic dinner, he knows my favorite food is thin-crust pizza, so he found Tutta Bella on his phone. The service was probably the worst we ever had. They barely acknowledged us when we walked in. The Hostess was a female and was more interested in gabbing with "friends" "Co-workers" than taking care of Bill and I. Sitting was even worst. We ordered our food, my fiance specifically said we were celebrating my birthday and server (female) DID NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING! Which proves, she wasn't listening. While she was taking our order she was looking at the other (male) server, and talking back and forth constantly with hostess. It was like a circus. Our Calamari came to the table from someone else, and was very delicious. Then our pizza came, pretty much at the same time while we were eating the calamari. Server came over just as pizza was sat down, and asked how "the food was". We said our appetizer was great, we didn't start our pizza yet. Which, by the way was sitting there getting cold. As we started our pizza, our water glasses were empty. No one came back to refill them. We ate the entire pizza, my fiance wanted to order us a dessert, but because she never came back to ask how pizza was we decided to go to a movie and leave. As we were leaving, he noticed she was still gossiping to other servers and hostess. This place is a circus. It's a shame that sometimes places that serve delicious food don't know how to hire professional good workers! We will not be...
