As part of an all day game shopping marathon, I came into this store (3rd of 6 stores total) with my brother. He found some great deals on laser discs, and we appreciated that the person at the register (owner?) was willing to do bundle deals.
I was seriously considering buying a silver Game Cube because it was in really good condition and the price was decent. As my brother and I held a casual conversation, the other employee just started talking to us from across the room and inserted himself into the conversation. Totally get it; as part of this culture, that is acceptable. BUT, he just kept going and going by the end of it, we werenât anywhere near where the original conversation was. We just kinda stood there and were like âYeah, yeah,â but we were trying to shop!
Somehow we got from GTA VI, his opinions on that, to his opinions on the direction of the industry, to his predictions about the industry, to his previous education, how that didnât work, and to his current education without my brother and I basically saying a thing. We just had to get out of there.
I really wish I had some time to think about the Game Cube because I would have probably bought it if I would have had two seconds to think about it. I would have also bought a memory card and a game, and if they had a Wave Bird Controller, would have bought that too (didnât have time to ask for aforementioned reasons). So, basically, $200.
The kicker is that I didnât buy anything the whole day because I wanted that Game Cube and couldnât stop thinking about it. I live about 40 minutes away, so probably not going to be around there any time soon.
I feel 4 stars is appropriate, as we did buy something successfully, but we just couldnât take it anymore. Interacting with customers is good, but you need to actually let them shop if you want to do...

Read moreTop notch!!! When I first went in, I was shocked by how organized and clean the store was! Burt immediately greeted me, and asked if I had anything in particular I was looking for. He directed me to his GBC Pokémon games. I tried out his cheaply priced Pokémon Sliver. ($25 w/ a perfect sticker and new battery) He said his battery repair man (Dan) wasn't done w/ all of the batteries in the games. So he let me try one out, it didn't work, let me try another, it didn't work. He immediately put them in the "needs a battery pile" and apologized. He then discounted the game $5, and wouldn't let me leave until I checked to see if the game would save. Then, when we proceeded to checkout, I didn't have the exact amount because I left my wallet at home. He said 21 is fine (it was 21.79 after tax) and I told him about my Pokémon yellow needing a battery. He then told me to come in the next day, and ask for Dan. I went in a few days later and Dan put in my battery for free! He even put a 60 day warranty on it! I will definitely be back. The best retro/used gamestore in Centrel Ohio. (BTW DO NOT GO TO...
