If I could give 0 stars I would. The experience that my business associate had in the store yesterday was appalling. He came into the store yesterday to inquire about purchasing a new desktop computer and some SD cards for our business instead he was met with unprofessionalism from an associate named Amanda. After he roamed around the store several times without receiving any assistance, he made his way up to the register where he encountered Amanda. She looked as if she was over all disgusted with life and did not want to be bothered. The first time up there he asked about the SD cards. She seemed as if it was an inconvenience to assist him. After getting the cards he found a desktop computer that he liked. Again he had to go back up to the register to ask questions about it. He was originally told that the particular computer in stock and later after she involved another associate he found out it was only the display available. After making his way back to the register to purchase the SD cards (that she had already put away), she breezed the computer past the option for the extended warranty. He politely asked about, after all he had heard her offer it to every customer before him. She then said to him smugly that "It costs extra money".
This is not how anybody should be treated. I am deeply saddened and hurt about how he was treated in Office Max, by your employee. We choose to spend money within our community instead of ordering everything through places...
Read moreI went to OfficeMax to pick up a case of paper in my truck. The guy brought it out and pointed to the front door then the back door. I pointed to the back door. Instead, he put the case of paper in the bed of the truck -- and it was raining! I rolled down the back window and told him that it should go in the back seat. Before I could say anything, he grabbed the case from the bed of the truck and shoved it through the window! I had folded up the rear seat to make make it easier to put it in. It landed with a huge thud. He said "Whew!" and walked away.
Added 22-Mar-2022: Purchased 3 items (187509, 612051, 330680) for a total of $63.84. After I got home, I realized that these prices were too high. I check online and two of the items were much cheaper online than in the store. Item 612051 was $34.49 in store but $29.99 online. Item 330680 was $18.19 in store but $13.79 online. I went back to the store and the clerk (Jayden) said they price match. I asked why the prices online and store were different. He just said they would price match their online price. I told him that this was not appropriate. I did receive a refund for the two items, which I then re-purchased for the online price. This whole experience was totally unnecessary since it meant that I had to make two trips to the store. This and the previous incident means that you have forever...
Read moreThroughout my extensive experience shopping at Office Depot, including visits to locations in less favorable areas, I have never faced such severe disrespect. It is particularly troubling and unacceptable to encounter this level of hostility from a manager, especially regarding a self-service issue that merely requires a bit of support. The manager's conduct, marked by unwarranted defamation and a misuse of his authority, was not only unprofessional but also violated the company's code of ethics. His actions reflect poorly on the organization and undermine the principles of respectful and ethical behavior that Office Depot should uphold.
I am also grateful to Jason for his support in this situation. Without his intervention, I’m unsure how far the manager’s misuse of authority would have gone. I appreciate Jason standing up for me and ensuring I received the product I had paid for, despite the manager's orders to withhold it and his attempts to involve the police. I hope Jason does not face any retaliation for his actions.
