I had never built a computer before in my life. I've just lived with laptops up until now. I brought in a RTX 4090 with a micro ATX case, a 12th gen i7 cpu, and 64 GB of RAM.

Mike assembled my computer for me and saved my ASS. It's been a while since then, and I'm writing this review from my new computer, which works BEAUTIFULLY.

He even showed me which parts didn't quite fit in my PC case, so I was able to go to Best Buy and exchange them super quickly for the ones I needed. Coincidentally, the ones I actually needed and that DID fit were ones I had originally been advised by people on reddit and by pcpartpicker to get in the first place. I had initially tried getting slightly different parts than what I'd been recommended, and so them not fitting was a rookie mistake on my part.

If I had tried to assemble this thing myself, I definitely would've gotten super frustrated and tried to force these parts in to no avail until they broke or something. Mike saved me probably days of frustration. He even showed me how to open up the PC myself and pointed out that I should buy a "sag bracket" for my GPU for a few bucks on Amazon, to help support it. I had never even heard of that before.

I now feel much more comfortable taking care of a desktop than I ever dreamed I'd be able to (even recently upgraded my RAM to 128 GB by myself), and it's all thanks to Mike being a total pro. He installed the operating system for me, advised me about the tradeoffs of updating the BIOS vs not, and even helped carry the PC out to my car.

In the past, Mike has also replaced my iPhone 5S's phone screen and battery for me, and fixed a broken side button on my Samsung Galaxy S7, making both phones good as new when I thought they were completely beyond their life.

Gotta try to bring in some old radio and boombox stuff and see if they can fix...

Great Laptop and Phone Repair Shop - Locally Owned and Operated

I got a bit too excited watching the Jaguar's game last Saturday; my beer tumbled, and the entire glass of beer ended up spilling across my laptop keyboard.

Despite my frantic drying efforts, the laptop went dark and on Monday I took it to "Nothing But Tech Repairs" which is located in the strip mall just east of Taco Lu on Beach Blvd.

Mike, one of the two owners of this newly opened local business (not a franchise) was superb. Diagnostic was a very reasonable $25, and that amount was placed toward the repair costs.

Mike explained my options - replace some of the parts and get it operational, but no assurance that the beer would not have short-circuited something at present hidden. Or buy a new one.

I elected to go with a new one. And Mike volunteered to assist in my selection, so I explained what I do with a laptop (business use mostly when not watching Jag games) and no gaming or video editing. He used his shop monitor, we located a great new laptop, found the best price and selection and off I went.

I came back, Mike had been busy transferring my files from my old hard drive to a USB. Without asking, Mike helped me power-up my new laptop, help load what I needed, deleted what I didn't and very soon my digital life was back on-line.

While this was going on - customers with busted phones trickled in and Mike's great customer service which he provided to me, was extended to all of the other customers as well.

Great place, great owner and great service. I am going to use Mike in my Private Investigation firm when I need tech support, phone sweeps and electronic counter-surveillance operations.
