Upon entering Engine 15, we could feel a very friendly local atmosphere within. It was lunch hour and there were some guests sitting on the bar seats, chatting, having a drink and catching the local sport action. We were told by a staff over the counter that we could sit anywhere. She came by with the menu and we were told that we can make the orders at the counter once we’re ready. Located in the heart of Jacksonville Beach, Engine 15 Brewery (or simply E15) offers a selection of craft beers, rotating on one of 30 tap lines in the brewery. As a full-fledged restaurant, Engine 15 also offers some excellent bar grubs that goes pretty well with the beers on tap. While browsing the menu, we stumbled upon the Liquid Lunch Menu that is available from Tuesdays to Fridays from 11am to 3pm. I had family over from the UK and after just three beers we were told that he couldn't serve us anymore that it would be irresponsible because we were intoxicated. I understand that they can refuse service at anytime for any reason but just felt the bartender was bitter because my uncle "from the UK" insisted on picking up the tab. He closed it out each time, and if you are familiar with the customs over there they do not tip. I had full intentions on leaving a tip when we got ready to leave as if we had a tab. Even though the service was slow and not very personable when taking our order. He said after listening to our conversation "about our mortgages" here in the states vs in the UK. We sounded intoxicated. I personally have never been refused service at any level of intoxication an literally felt shamed leaving this establishment. Just to find out later my uncle had not tipped the guy. I guess they feel entitled to there tip compensation before hand. Needless to say me nor anyone I can ever persuade will ever give a dime to this establishment...

Came here for the first time on July 24, 2022. Heard good thing about this place so wanted to give it a try. My first take was with fire department name as such I was hoping to see old fire engine or fire department decor. This is not really the case, it was in name only, pretty much nothing inside said Firefighters or Fire Engine. No big deal, but if your looking for a firefighter bar this is not it. Now on to the beers. Great selection and range of taste, there is something for everyone. Here the let down, I like my beer cold. I understand some beer are served a little warmer, but almost room temp for one is not acceptable. The service was okay, you can tell it has a local following so they get taken care of pretty fast the rest of us need to be patient. It wasn't very busy and a little pricey but worth the visit. I will return to see if they were just having a sub par day. Hopefully I can bump it...
