I am a very diverse person when it comes to supporting different types of businesses in Jacksonville! 6 months ago, I decided to shave the back part of my hair and loved the outcome! I did not have an actual barber in Duval, so I decided to try this place since it was next door to Amy's Nail Shop of which I have been a loyal client of 12 years. My first time in with a young lady who specialized in designs I paid $25... 2 weeks later I came back in for another fresh design I was charged $35 and was informed that the prices went up! I am aware of inflation in the world now, but this did not sit well with me as being a new customer! Communication was very ineffective! Fast forward to 3 months later, I decided to give this business another try... Upon me entering I was informed, allow them to check for open availability... I was told to just have a sit they could get me in... Shortly afterwards a gentlemen entered and was asked did he care for any water, soda, etc... It was weird for me, and this was my last time here at this place of business! I got a temp fade in the back, a small section of my hair cut low which she was done in 7 mins and it was $35! I was told by other barbers, a haircut is not that much! That's ridiculous! I am an African American woman, and this place of business caters to WHITE MEN ONLY! I do not highly recommend if you are a woman of color, the vibes are weird, they don't get to actually know you, they don't build rapport, the young lady on the side is just laughing and talking to a young gentlemen about his kids and family, (So I know I'm not tripping) but they love when you swipe your card, you will get a fake smile! This was my experience after three times, so I know this is how they operate with business! I have found a new barber who is also a White male, but he can communicate with both men and women of color, and is aware that money has no color to it and it spends the same! Communication was great, and I was treated like all other clients in the shop! I was given a set price each week I come in! I am a forever client now! For me it's Quality over Quantity! This is my personal experience, and it may be...

Let me first state that I am not a âsalonâ kind of guy. My Mom cut my hair with clippers when I was a kid, I used a barber in college, and Iâve used the ship or the base for a cheap, quick haircut in my adult years. Hair does not define me, and I usually give no more than a momentâs thought to it. That being said, I began dating a someone who, unlike myself, cares about what I look like! Appeasing his wish that I get a ârealâ haircut, I took his advice and booked an appointment with Angelique.
Skeptical as I was, I was pleasantly surprised. All of the stylists in her salon introduced themselves, were friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their workplace. Not only was Angelique very pleasant, and quite beautiful, it was clear that she wanted to give me a haircut that was tailored for me. You can tell she wholeheartedly enjoys what she does and it definitely shows in the end result. I canât believe how outstanding my hair cut turned out.
Now I've been pretty resistant to the recent âmetro-sexualâ movement for guys. Paying close attention to my hair, eyebrows, and non existent chest hair was not for me. But, for someone who has never paid more for than $12 for a hair cut, the whole process was not the wallet draining, haughty ordeal I had built it up to be. It was a very relaxed, enjoyable experience. The prices are far more reasonable than any shop around and the quality is by far at its extreme best. I am constantly having people ask me where I have my hair cut. These ladies are the sweetest and Jacksonville's best! This was a great experience overall.

Read moreThis is by far the best hair studio I've ever been to. I used to get my haircut in Riverside and frequented one of the top barbers in San Antonio, Texas, but this place tops them all. Not only did I entrust them to cut off five years of growth but they made me feel so confident in my new change. The staff's knowledge and attention to detail made me so comfortable I had no problem allowing them to completely change my style. Let me tell you, not only does my wife love my knew style, but people have been complimenting my haircut every day since I got it done.
While I was getting my haircut a severely irritated old man came in immediately complaining and demanding a walk-in appointment. The staff were extremely accommodating and even after being talked down to, gave this "gentleman" stellar service, including a hot towel and neck massage. Was he thankful? No, but the staff were as elegant and graceful as one could be in the face of arrogance and rudeness. This is my new one-stop shop for beard and hair from now on.
Side Note: I don't know what that Steve guy was talking about in the previous review, but based on his "lackluster" review I'd say he allows his emotions to dictate his actions. When a professional tells you you're being jipped,...
