Let me start off by saying this was my favorite BBQ place in Jacksonville. I came here often and would bring friends when they were in town. Tonight, I ordered delivery from a company... That was a mistake, because if I had been served what I got, at a table, there is no way I would have found that acceptable. My last visit here I noticed the quality of the food started to get worse.
One of my favorite things about MOJO is their chicken, coleslaw and Mac & cheese, which is what I get pretty much everytime I come in. I opened the container of coleslaw and immediately lost my appetite. It was YELLOW! NOT TO MENTION Soupy. 🤢 I stuck a fork in it and was just dripping everywhere. The yellow color of it just made it worse. I attempted to taste it and it also tasted bad.
The Mac & Cheese was incredibly dry and lacked flavor.
I always get the chicken chopped & all white meat chicken. I picked through the chicken to find pieces that I would eat, but it was rubbery. I've never had chicken like that from Mojos.
I'm not sure if you guys have a new cook or what, but I feel like I just wasted $20 This was just a really bad experience. From looking at others recent reviews, I feel like you're going to keep loosing long term customers who have been coming...
Read moreVisited around 5pm on a weeknight and we had no wait. Our server (named Jacob or Jason) advised it was happy hour so we enjoyed reduced price cocktails and an appetizer of fried pickles. The service was great, the ambiance and decor was unique and the drinks were amazing. The meats were also pretty tasty and very tender. But the sides need quite a bit of improvement in my opinion. My companion had the 2 meat platter with mashed potatoes and green beans and I had the brisket with collards and mac and cheese. The green beans were the only side that was decent. The collards had zero flavor and the mac and cheese was bland and mushy. I couldn't even eat the cornbread. I rarely eat canned foods but a can of glory greens and box of jiffy mix would have tasted better. I'm from North Carolina so perhaps it's a cultural or regional difference but when I eat barbecue and or southern inspired foods I expect the food to be seasoned. Simply adding some seasoning to the vegetables and sharp cheddar to the mac would go a long way toward improvement. Our server was exceptional and whoever makes the drinks (the mojito is the best I've ever had!) deserves kudos which is basis for the generous 4...
Read moreThe food was either under seasoned or overly seasoned and with my order the meat was uncooked and rather raw me and my family were not satisfied with the food including our baby who would eat anything yet she did not like the food here, this was the most disappointing experience ever and its so sad that we came here hungry expecting to be greeted with good better yet great food yet it was absolutely disgusting, please do better. And the chefs seem to be paid to get to be serving us garbage and i am pretty sure all of the good reviews posted about this restaurant were from bots, Do Better. Also i might add that another customer walked in with a baby and all seemed well up until the baby got a taste of that food and god help me I'm not exaggerating but that baby bawled. And as i walked in i took a look at the kitchen and the walls were literally stained BROWN and i have no idea what type of doodoo they used as paint but i do know that it is a health code violation and can and will get this dump shut down. (PS: it smells like fart… and it wasn’t me so...
