In the bustling culinary landscape, there exists a vibrant gem that has transformed the simple act of taco tasting into an extraordinary adventure. TacoLu, a Mexican eatery that has quickly become the talk of the town, is not just another dining spot; it's a sanctuary for taco lovers who crave innovation, quality, and value all wrapped in a tortilla. With its eclectic menu that boasts an array of incredible tacos, TacoLu invites you to embark on a flavor journey that's as delightful as it is affordable.
From the moment you step into TacoLu, you're greeted with a lively and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly sets the tone for the culinary fiesta awaiting you. The eatery's vibrant décor, combined with the cheerful staff, creates an inviting ambiance that makes every visit feel like a celebration. But the real stars of the show are, without a doubt, the tacos.
Among the standout offerings, three tacos deserve a special mention for their creativity and mouthwatering appeal: the $10 Taco, the Blue Cheese Taco, and the Bang Shrimp Taco. Each of these tacos is a testament to TacoLu's commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional Mexican cuisine while maintaining an incredible price point that's hard to beat.
The $10 Taco, despite its seemingly simple name, is anything but ordinary. This taco is a masterclass in flavor balance and ingredient quality, offering a generous filling that justifies its name and then some. It's a must-try for anyone looking to experience the pinnacle of taco craftsmanship without breaking the bank.
For those with adventurous palates, the Blue Cheese Taco is a revelation. Combining the sharp and tangy notes of blue cheese with perfectly seasoned fillings, this taco challenges conventions and rewards diners with a taste experience that's bold and unexpectedly harmonious. It's a flavor combination that you never knew you needed in your life until now.
Not to be outdone, the Bang Shrimp Taco is a crowd-pleaser that brings a touch of the sea to the taco fiesta. The shrimp are succulent and perfectly cooked, coated in a bang sauce that's the right mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy, all cradled in a soft tortilla. This taco is a symphony of textures and flavors that will have you reaching for another as soon as you take your last bite.
But TacoLu's menu doesn't stop at these three marvels. Each taco on the menu is crafted with the same attention to detail and flavor innovation, ensuring that there's something for everyone. Whether you're a meat lover, seafood enthusiast, or vegetarian, TacoLu has a taco that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you in awe of what can be achieved within the confines of a tortilla.
In conclusion, TacoLu is more than just a Mexican eatery; it's a destination for anyone who believes that tacos should be celebrated, not just eaten. With its unbeatable combination of out-of-this-world tacos, amazing prices, and a festive dining atmosphere, TacoLu stands as a testament to the joy of Mexican cuisine and the endless possibilities it holds. Read moreI had the privilege of being invited to my first visit to Taco Lu. I had heard so many wonderful things about it, I was excited to experience it first-hand.
Upon arrival, we had a short wait for a table, and while waiting I noticed a bottle on the bar shelving that I had previously seen at another restaurant in Jacksonville. Now, Taco Lu has a menu just for their tequila. So..... I asked our server to help me out by finding out the name of this particular bottle, which he did. Casa Azul. Great.
I scan the menu (because again, they have a WHOLE MENU for tequila - which is not in alphabetical order, by the way) for Casa Azul and find a reposado for $11.
One of the offerings on this tequila menu is a collection of suggested flights (something I'm now intrigued by, since my trips to EPCOT Food & Wine Festival always involve a tequila flight), so I ask if there was a way to incorporate this Casa Azul Reposado into a flight. He comes back after a few moments and says they would be happy to put a flight together.... for $120.
Ummmmm....... ONE shot is $11, and for three, you want me to pay ten times that amount? Uh... no thank you..... I'll just take the one please...
This is when he points out there may be an error in the menu, and I ask him to bring me the shot at the $11 price point. THEN, I realize there are TWO Casa Azul tequilas (again, MENU of tequila). One is a white and one is a reposada, and the white is $14. AH HA! We were both confused, and I ask another server to help me explain to our server how mistaken I was.
Our server returns, and after I humbly explain my mistake, he says, "Yeah, that's still wrong.... the reposado should be $17. I've brought out the updated price list. My manager doesn't know how this (old price list) got left out here, but they asked me to swap them out."
At this point I realize management has already been involved - and didn't handle it the way I would have expected, considering all the aforementioned rave reviews. I was also informed by my party that it's a sort of standard for Taco Lu to have young, inexperienced wait staff.
So I just passed on the tequila altogether and instead enjoyed a lovely meal with even...
Read moreWe have been there so many times in the past and have had wonderful experiences. Today, my family was treated awful. We asked to be seated on the patio with our service dog, and the hostess tossed the menus on the table, scooted a chair at a 4 person table (since there were 5 of us) and walked off, so we started scooting the table she took the chair from and another woman approached us asking if they said we could do that. There were at least 4-5 other empty tables out there and we had 5 of us. She said that the tables might be in separate sections and they usually don’t scoot tables together for just 5. She said she was unsure, but it was also in the sun and she responded “well everything is in the sun out here, it’s hot”. The tone was very rude and so my husband said it’s fine, we can come back later. The waitress didn’t even say she could at least ask to keep us there. I went to the front after we walked out to let them know we were no longer sitting out there and the waitress was already to the front talking about us. I came up and said I was right here to which the one hostess who sat us started laughing and turned her back. The woman from the patio spoke to me as though she had done nothing wrong and that I was in the wrong for expecting a table to fit my family of 5. The lack of professionalism and ability to admit she should have at least offered to ask if they could accommodate us is beyond us. We used to come every weekend last summer, sat on the patio with two tables, and to be treated so horrible is not ok. We have always loved the staff and these women at the front and the one on the patio has ruined our desire to frequent and support a place we used to love. After, we tried to call the manager and they only took our number and we have yet to get a call back. We are so disappointed and frustrated to be mistreated. We will no longer recommend or give our business to this...
